I went into a corner too fast. I didn't see how tight that turn was and the car understeered right into a guard rail. I totally underestimated that turn. Ya I failed in canyons. And yes VDC was off. Here's pics of the damage.

Ouch. That sucks!

Just out of curiosity: are you experienced in the Canyons?

Hope to see you take care of that asap and back at our usual meets!

PS. You now have a better excuse to get an aftermarket front bumper!

Dude, no offense, but this is exactly what's wrong with riding in the canyons these days. You need to be in control of your car before you go out and drive it; I'm out there on the weekends, on either two wheels or four, so I get mildly annoyed when I see people driving recklessly. Please calm it down out there, and hope your car gets put back together with minimal stress/issues.

PS: If you insist upon making spirited canyon runs, at LEAST sight out the road beforehand. Check for any road hazards (gravel, oil, water, ice) and be conscious as to how many people are out on the roads. No turn should ever catch you by surprise.

Ya I understeered to the left. No problem for me guys, this will be a great excuse to get a body kit I always wanted!

Henry: This was my 2nd time out with Vlad. 4th time in the G through Malibu specifically and a couple of times along the 2 and 18 (I know not as exciting as Malibu) to and from Wrightwood and Big Bear, if that counts for anything.

Edit: Doh! I meant the 18 from Big Bear. Been going to Vegas a lot recently and had the 14 in mind for some reason.

The oddest thing...
I noticed a clicking noise when I got home after the run so I checked my wheel lug nuts and found 2 on the right and 3 on the left were loose.

Hey glad you were ok though. Wow you must have been pushing it pretty hard on those tires? I dunno what could have caused it though. Were the rims taken off recently? And maybe the person who put them back on didn't fully tighten them?
