Drag Racing

The next two dates (before it starts to get warmer) are next Sunday Feb 28th and Sat Apr 3rd.

AAA Speedway in Fontana - gates open at 6:00am and unless they've changed things, they only let first 400 in...

My car is finally in a normal state - so I'm thinking of going next Sunday... anyone else interested?

For more info check their site:

I think you hit it on the nail. Post up a flush wheel meet and watch "hella" people respond. LOL!

Might be too far away for me too on my only day off. Having to drive that far and get 2-3 runs isn't ideal for me. With that said, I'll probably be at Sacramento Raceway in the spring for test n tune when I visit family. $50 is worth the money to run all day with no wait and no ricers and no helmet and even though I run 13's.

I'm not to fond of that track anyways.

Put me on the "Maybe" list.

you get way more than 2-3 these days... 4 by 2:00 or 3:00 and 7-8 if you stay till 5:00ish...

Its the only 1/4 mile track around - and all my race buddies are in a different car now or dont live here anymore ...

I don't know. Waiting all day to run 5-8 runs just blows. Maybe I'm just spoiled from Sac Raceway (test n tune) and Qualcomm. I can do 5-8 runs in less than a hour. I just want to practice my 60ft's anyways.

Still deciding. If I get the next day off, I'll go.

I feel you...

Irwindale (1/8 mile like Qualcomm) gets tons of runs too...

I'm gonna go to Famoso (Bakersfield) one of these days... I heard that track is great (of course closer than Sac)... but I havent been able to get anyone to go there either

you're right about everyone would be all over a hellaflush 16" wide wheels with -7 camber meet...
Or a meet where everyone shows their vented hoods and fenders with a z-tube and exhaust

anyway - hopefully some will show... there are still some performance oriented Gs around - I think many are going to some gig up north that weekend though...

Famoso would be cool.

At least we see eye to eye on the "hellaflush" thing. I've noticed that performance threads don't get as many responses as aesthetic mod threads. The reality is, someone could build a 500whp all motor G and another one can get a roof overlay for example. The roof overlay thread will get more hits. Truth.

There are also other options since you brought up Famoso. They also have test n tune sessions. http://www.famosoraceway.com/

March
20-21 Open Test and Tune – Gates 7am each day
27-28 Open Test and Tune – Gates 7am each day

I'd definitely be interested in this... maybe we should start another thread - or change this one to Famoso...

Hopefully we can get a group together... for anyone interested in numbers closer to reality (since Fontana is crap) - this would be a good time to do it...

Henry (skaterbasist) might want to go... the Rare JDM guys are more into road racing - but Darren has been to Fontana, and Dave just got his car together (I think)... so maybe they might go...

I'm still gonna hit Fontana before summer gets here to see if I can brake 14 there... no NA VQDE that I know of has... closest I've got is 14.002

When I use to go, It was always windy and the track prep was...It's also 1115 above sea level.

Before we set a track meet, i think we should get a feel of would would want to go.

its only 635' above sea level... which is one of the reasons I want to go there... track elevation listed on their site: http://www.famosoraceway.com/map.htm actually only 625' according to Drag Times:http://www.dragtimes.com/Famoso-Race...ackID-124.html

Also, Shawn Church was telling me its surrounded by tons of trees...

The location is oxygen rich so should result in decent ETs...

Wait - are you talking about Fontana or Famoso?... Fontana's elevation is closer to what you said... and often windy... that track is **** - but its all we have close by...
