NS vs. SS (houston)

Its time to see what Houston has to offer when it comes to territory.

Sure there has been alot of underground talk as to who has the fastest cars/trucks in Houston.

- We all know that Houston is top dawg when it comes to being home to some of the baddest cars in the US (PERIOD).

Question is ( ? )

... Which side is faster?

What do I mean?

Simple, Houston has always been divided into 2 sections when it has come down to the "street scene".

Northside and the Southside

We seem to stick to our own when it comes to street events or nightly "cruises" per-say. And very rarely do we run into each other on the street.

Here is the deal plain an simple:

HPD (HoustonPerformanceDriving.com) is setting up a legal event to bring out some of the baddest street cars Houston has to offer.

There are going to be (two) 2 groups

Northside people: Anyone who lives north of I-10

Southside people: Anyone who lives south on I-10

What is in it for you?

Come out and represent your group. "Walk the Walk" and back up that your "side" runs the streets of Houston.

Awards?

- Sure, we are offering Trophies for each group.

And one (1) Trophy or the overall winner.

If there is enough (sponsors) to support this event there might even be cash money winnings at the end of the day.

Whats running? "Street cars"

This has always been a debate as to what is classified as a "street" car.

- Race gas?
- Pass inspection?
- Registered?

Bottom line for what we are going to look for if you want to run in the street class:

1: Transmissions (null and void if your car came with one of the following from the factory)

A non factory transmissions IE: no glides in fords no 2 or 3 speed autos in f bodys no non factory autos in supras etc. (The cars must have an overdrive to run in the street class)
B NO - pro shifted manual tranys and transbrakes on automatics

2: Interior

A: Any exposed interior sheet metal the car must have a full interior if you have no rear seat it must be covered carpeted etc. Both front seats must be installed.

Classes:

Simple

- Truck Class - Street

- Car Class - Street

- Unlimited Class

IE: A Ford Lighting isnt going to run a 1200hp Viper.

When?

APRIL 21ST

Where?

LSR (lonestar Motorsports Park)

Why LSR? - Simple, This track has proven itself and the rules are not as strict as HRP.

- I have also been talking with John about setting up this event and he ha gives his support 100%.

(He guarantees the track WILL be prepped and ready for us when the time comes)

Who is ready to race?

For sponsorship information on the Northside vs Southside Event please contact me via PM or e-mail (goliphant@houstonperformancedriving.com)

I will also be working on getting shirts made up for each side to wear if they are interested in purchasing in buying one.

(working on shirts now)
