Ok, its officially time to start doing performance mods to my car and lay off everything else. I got beat by an old ugly turbo civic last night. Now had I had the ***** to keep going down I-30 at 100+ weaving through traffic, I could have beaten him but my license is suspended as it is, so probably wouldnt have been a good idea. Nonetheless, this has prompted me to make sure it never happens again, so let the performance mods begin. Just trying to decide whether or not its worth it to go turbo.
On a side note, my wheels are worth more than his car, so that makes me feel a little better.

Max, Im looking at going with a TT setup, IVe got the 5AT as well. Did you just do the VB upgrade and a torque converter? No problems at all?
there's a guy w/ a tt 5at, might wanna look at his set up. Ive raced him, he's fast.
I have put 20k on the trans so far, mostly at 8psi, but its been holding 14.7 psi for a while now.

VB, TQ Conv, Trans Fluid Cooler, B&M external filter and I run Red Line D4 ATF. The external filter and D4 are optional. Its occasionally finicky when daily driving, I think its from the higher stall on the TQ Conv, but its not really a big deal. I need to shift manually at full boost or it hits the rev limiter, a raised rev limiter would fix this. At part throttle ~2/3, which is still pretty fun it shifts just fine, chirps the 295 R888s in second

Thats a helluva way to drive for lunch Kellen  I know I know. You just go cause you like the roadtrip.
I believe I will probably go for the Vortech when I get ready to upgrade. Nice easy bolt-on, I don't have to go thru the motor like I would with a Turbo setup, and there are many ways of customizing it to fit your needs. IT won't give me as much performance as the Greddy, but for what I'm looking for (like a turbo civic eater LMAO!) it will get the job done.
If I'm not mistaken the VQ is built to withstand up to 9psi comfortably anyway, correct?
Also Kellen, if you decide to do this, David knows a lot of good, reliable shops in the area that could handle this for you. He is not a turbo guru, but he is a good mechanic and is knowledgeable about it to be able to recommend a good shop here locally that could take care of you. And give you good pointers of what may be good ideas for versatility and personalization.
