Very disappointing experience at Orlando Infiniti

Buyers beware ... here's my VERY disappointing experience at Orlando Infiniti and their service.

I have been searching all throughout the state of Florida for a nice G35 Coupe 6MT to lease...I found one local here in Orlando so I was communicating back and worth via email to get the information on it. So I decided to finally lease it and I speak to their Internet Sales Manager on the phone and he secures me a rate and a leasing program (pending credit check of course) over the phone.

So I fill out the online credit application, and a few hours later I speak to him again and he says that I have been approved for 512 a month for 39 months. He said that he'd need $500 deposit to secure the vehicle, and that I could come in, sign a few sheets of paper and leave with the vehicle. I verbally asked him 3-5 times that it was $512.00 a month for 39 months and that I was secure and locked in with that rate and he agreed over and over.

Fast forward to after getting off work and going to the dealership. Apparently the Internet Sales Manager whom I had spoken to earlier on the phone wasn't even there. So I dealt with the person that had been emailing me back and forth. All of a sudden, they come back telling me to fill out ANOTHER credit application and that my income that I had filed would not allow me to have a $5xx payment range. So I agreed and that was fine and asked them my options. They recommended that I do a 59 month leasing program (much against what I would have liked to do) but after a LOT of thinking and knowing that I wanted the vehicle, I agreed to the 59 month leasing program. They worked out the numbers FOR ME ON THE SPOT and gave me the contract that I needed.

I signed ALL the paperwork that night, showed them that I was held responsible for, they knew what income I was filing and the payment that they had given me. I drove the car off the lot that Wednesday night.

Yesterday afternoon (Tuesday) I receive a phone call saying that I need either a co-signer on my lease or more proof of income otherwise they will take the vehicle back, because the income I had filled out on the credit application was NOT adequate for my $4xx a month payment. They did NOT tell me any of this the night I was taking the vehicle, the night that I signed a legally binding contract, the night that I DROVE OFF the lot with the vehicle. They contacted me almost a week later to inform me of this.

Of course I'm fumed, but I go back and contact several people I do websites for to send me the proof of additional income from my website designs. I faxed this over to them promptly to cooperate with them. 24 hours later, I receive a phone call and they have YET to even rerun the information to see if I am approved. What sort of service is this?

The financial manager even said to me in his words "It was our mistake to let you drive the vehicle without the credit approval, we understand that."

1 week later they run my credit approval on the vehicle? I have almost 400 miles on the car already! And beyond that I give them the information that they request before they "take back my vehicle" and they don't even bother checking it 24 hours later? They contact me to just tell me that they have not forgotten about me...

Needless to say I am EXTREMELY frustrated with Infiniti in their promptness in service and their ways of going around it. The financial manager was completely rude with me regarding the issue, and didn't even take into aspect what I had heard and what I had signed a binding contract on. All he kept focusing on was that they were going to take the vehicle back if I do not get a co signer or proof of more income.

If I didn't enjoy the car so much, I would've gladly returned it to them...so beware if you are looking for an Infiniti I would approach Orlando's dealership with a LOT of caution.

Re: Very disappointing experience at Orlando Infiniti

sorry to hear about your problem.

i have not heard much in the way of good experiences from them. I spoke with them on the phone about a coupe and they were a bunch of jerks.

Understand, this is a common practice among dealerships... let someone leave with the car and a deal in place. Then call and say there is a problem (which always results in more money for the DEALER) and if you don't do what they want, they need the car back.

If i were you, the second they said you would have to give the car back I would have said "fine, bring me a refund of the money i have already paid and come get it." This is nothing more that typical dealership BS. Its just a tactic to try to get more money from you. Trust me, they know everything they need before you ever leave there with the keys!

Just for future reference.... leases are typically only a good deal for the DEALER!.... if you can't get it worked out with Orlando, try the dealers in Atlanta, if its not too far... much better up there.

They seemed to be OK when I was dealing with them. I was going in armed and ready for their tricks and tactics...the actual salesperson I dealt with was actually pleasant, just the aftermath and all these ridiculous hitches and bumps has been ridiculous.

Needless to say I'm going to make an effort to let everyone know how disappointed I am in this deal. And yeah, I walked into it knowing that leases always work out better for the dealer, but after working out the numbers and viewing it in my perspective, leases are better for me. Either way though, this is no way to treat a customer, or just business ethics in general - waiting an entire week to run a credit approval? And if something arises, correct it immediately! 24 hours later they don't even have an update on the issue? Ridiculous...

You need to file a complaint to the Orlando Better Business Bureau in order to get it documented, and if Orlando Infinity is a member of the BBB, they are obligated to respond and look into the matter.

I Leased my coupe about 2.5 weeks ago from Orlando Infiniti. I had a great salesman and financial person. There was a mix up with the Leasing company and they could not finance me b/c of my yearly income, but Inifiniti ended taking the lease themselves with no problem. Everything was very prompt. I am curious who you spoke with because I got to know a lot of the guys there and would be happy to discuss with them any issues you may have had.
Send me a pricate message if your interested. Thanks, and I hope all has worked out.

Sorry this isnt about a g35 coupe but I ahs the same dealings with firkins nissan in bradenton. I drove 2 hours spens several hours because they had to get the car and crazy other stuff. Mind you I just had my tonsils out and had to ahve my wife drive the whole time. They call me the next day and try the same stuff. You need your wife to co sign or your payment will go up. Needless to say I said screw you come pick up your car. They had a guy drive up with a trailor from bradenton to orlando to pick up the car. Hope my experience tomorrow with Glennn Automall will be better.
