Atlanta Body Shop
Atlanta Body Shop
I got some quotes from all around the Atlanta area for some minor damage. Kong's Body Shop in Atlanta gave me by far the lowest estimate by a few hundred dollars. Anyone ever been there, good, bad experiences?
DUDE. DO NOT GO THERE!!! excuse my french, but i f'in hate them. they ruined my life for a while...
he's this pretty built korean guy, rite?
a few years ago, a drunk neighbor straight up rammed into the back of my 2001 s2000. bastard...i went to kong's body shop because they were cheap...
long story, but feel my pain...
btw, i'm korean too, so i dunno...i just totally left my car there and trusted them with it...ugh...first off, the paint was totally off (silverstone metallic). i was so pissed. 2nd, they replaced my left taillight, which didn't work. 3rd, i get in my car and start driving home to hear a strange clicking noise comming from the engine at higher RPMs. i take it back and that **** drives it, revs the hell out of it and makes that clicking noise really really badly. stupid mexican worker there says i have no engine oil. ???? it was perfectly fine when i dropped it off. so i'm an idiot, and i say 'what do i do?' they said they'll put in oil for me so i can take it to a shop. omg... i was so pissed and unexperienced...basically i didn't know what i was doing or better yet, what they were doing. the damn fool puts regular oil into my precious honda s2k...when i clearly knew i bought synthetic oil for my car. that totally blew my engine. i drove it to this mechanic i knew a few miles away, where the engine just totally gave out...wow...i spent like 4grand for him to rebuild the whole engine cuz the crankshaft and bearings were tore up...he tried to rebuild it like 4 times, failing every time...eventually, after several months, it seemed OK, i drove it to infiniti and traded it in for my 2006 g35c 6MT.
that's my sad pathetic story...
I can't really blame them cuz i had no proof or anything wutsoever...sigh...i was a noob. i pity myself.
i sure hope the guy who eventually bought that s2k doesn't read this...
morale of the story! DON'T GO THERE! SCREW THAT BASTARD!!! I HATE HIM!!!

When I had my CL in undergrad, I went to Bavarian Bodyworks to fix a front bumper and lights. They did a really good job...Not the cheapest place in town, but I'd rather have it done right.
Connecting the dots?????
I will try to respond this as civil as I can. You came in to repair your Qt. panel and replace the rear bumper cover. Attached is a copy of your estimate.
First, not once did you mention that the color was off. If it was off, I would have gladly respray it for you. The paint is not going to match every single time. If we feel it's close enough we deliver. If the customer rejects it, we do it over until the customer is happy. Only way to get a 100% match is to blend to the adjacent panel. For instance, if you replace a front door, we would blend to the rear door and the front fender. For someone wanting to replace a bumper, it would be too much money to try to blend to both qt. panels. Go to the dealer and look at the silver g35/350s. The gas cap color and the bumper color is off on 7 out of 10 cars.
Second, the tail light was a brand new Honda part. If it's faulty, it has a warranty on it. All you have to do is tell us and we would have gotten you a new one.
Now comes the fun part. You say I blew up your engine. Can any of you tell me what does replacing a rear bumper have to do with engine oil being low. The person to blame here is whoever changed your oil last time. That sounds like you. When we checked the oil you had none.
"I get in my car and start driving home to hear a strange clicking noise comming from the engine at higher RPMs. i take it back and that **** drives it, revs the hell out of it and makes that clicking noise really really badly."
I never drove your car, I just cranked it up, as you asked me to do, to hear the noise. In your words,
"hear a strange clicking noise comming from the engine at higher RPMs."
Soooo.... if I don't rev it how am I suppose to hear it??? You asked me to rev it.
That's when I checked your oil.
"it was perfectly fine when i dropped it off. so i'm an idiot, and i say 'what do i do?' they said they'll put in oil for me so i can take it to a shop. omg... "
i wonder how many shop owners have heard this before? I really can't write down what I'm really feeling, but here it goes.
You are telling the world that you brought your car in to get your rear bumper repaired and your engine oil disappeared. Let's everyone take a deep breath and think about that for a moment. Rear bumper <-> Engine oil. Did your mechanic who tried to fix it "4 times" tell you that the Body Shop who replaced your rear bumper drained your oil?
Look, I've come across some difficult characters in this business, but come on man.
After you drove off, I never heard from you again. If you had a legitimate complaint, all you had to do was call me. It sounds like you had no trouble paying your mechanic 4 times to do the same thing over and over. I promise you it wouldn't take me 4 tries to get a color match on your bumper.
Bottom line, what you say don't make any sense. You car had no oil in it. It had nothing to do with the repair. Your were the noob who didn't even bother to check your oil. That's why your engine blew up, not because I repaired your rear bumper cover.
FYI, putting regular oil in you car does not make your engine blow up. Not having oil, well, that'll do it.
I really shouldn't have responded and stoop down to your level. I think you already embarrassed yourself with this post already but damn, bumper<->engine oil????
