Wheels in South Florida

Anyone out there have any recommendations on where to buy wheels (for a fair price) from in the Fort Lauderdale/Miami area? I have visited Good Roads in Fort Lauderdale, however they seem to be overpriced.

Thanks.

Re: Wheels in South Florida

There is wheelmax.com. They are in Miami. I bought some ADR's for my old honda from them. Do NOT buy chrome wheels from them, they suck. You asked for (a fair price) and that, to me, means cheap. If you want cheap, go to wheelmax. If you want to pay some money for some nice, forged, light weight wheels, go else where. BBS and HRE are 2 nice choices for the $2500-$8000 range. If that's too steep, make sure not to hit pot holes, because anything under that is probably cast steel or cast aluminum and will bend REALLY EASILY. Anything machined from a billet, or forged will be MUCH STRONGER, but you are going to have to pay for a quality wheel.

Good Luck with your purchase, and be sure to post back here to let us know what you went with.

Re: Wheels in South Florida

Thanks for the info.

Fair in this instance does not necessarily mean cheap. I just don't want to get ripped off. Based on some research, it does seem that prices for the same wheels do vary among different wheel outlets.

BTW, are you or anyone else out there familiar with the Roja Formula 7 Wheel. And if so, what are your thoughts?

Also, once my decision is made, I will definitely post the results.

Re: Wheels in South Florida

Doing a 5 minute internet search I was able to find out the following...

Name: Roja Formula 7:
Size: 18 x 8 inch wheel
Weight: 23 lbs. ea.
Price $418.00 each
Offset = 37
Manufactured: Forged (I believe it is a 2-piece wheel) not as strong as a one piece wheel

Name: BBS RG-R
Size: 18 x 8 or 18 x 8.5
Weight: 17.2 lbs or 18.0 lbs each
Price: $516 ea. or $524 ea.
Offset: 35
Manufactured: Forged, One Piece Wheel

The pricing data for the BBS came from... BBS RG-R . Make sure you click on the gmp discount tab to verify the prices I quoted. I'm sure you could do better on price that I did if you spent more time shopping.

5.8 lbs of unsprung weight per wheel is HUGE!!! Your G will be much quicker with lighter wheels and tires. I'm not 100% sure about offsets, but you can ask when you are shopping around. Good Luck.
