Taking Delivery Questions

Finally, after three + months it's here! As I type, some poor porter is getting drenched (not to mention my Graphite interior) while unloading my car from the transport at the dealership. Is there any thing in particular I need to be on the look out for while taking delivery (besides the usual scratch/dent inspection)? Any place in particular on the vehicle I need to pay attention to? Any and all help from fellow G's would be greatly appreciated.

P.S.: If it did not look like the Apocolypse outside right now, I would be at the dealership instead of typing this post.

Re: Taking Delivery Questions

you might want to get the customizable settings for the BCM set up. They may try to charge you for changes later on. I think there is a post on it in the FAQ section.

I would also pay particular attention to the titanium finished interior parts, if you are getting that interior. It is often scratched.

I would request an alignment check before you accept it. Often the alignment can be thrown out during transit... also if won't align, that could be a sign of a more serious problem with the car.

Try to get some wheel locks and touch up paint thrown in.

good luck.

Re: Taking Delivery Questions

We went through this a few times at FreshAlloy, try a search there. Biggest things, check the paint and the rims (inch by inch), make sure mileage is low.

They could give a crap about alignment, check it on the way home and tell them the next day.

Drive fast around the corners and you'll forget about the minor things.
