Jax guys with a dremel?
Jax guys with a dremel?
Any of you jax guys good with a dremel? Im getting this bluetooth car kit, and I want to install the buttons where the heated seat controls usually are (I dont have heated seats).
Here is what the buttons look like:

It has a wire going to the buttons, but I want to try to cut a precise hole, and mount it from underneath so it looks stock and no wires are anywhere.. ideas, input?

Re: Jax guys with a dremel?
I'm good with one only because I've messed up so many times. Use tape over the "finished" areas so when you catch an edge you don't dig a trench. Do as much from the back as possible. When it comes to getting a good right angle, use a file instead of the dremel at the end.

I have one if you come to Orlando.
Coming home from work today, I was like, why is it so hot in here??
I hit that stupid button. Be glad you have no heated seats. The truck release and VCD swith should be in that location.

Re: Jax guys with a dremel?
Thanks for the tips Russ. I hope that part isnt too expensive incase I screw it up! Oh by the way. How do I get that part off? I know youve practically taken your whole car apart...
Thanks Doug, I definately will need to borrow it if you dont mind. Thats one tool I dont have yet. I will let you know when I get ready to do it.

Re: Jax guys with a dremel?
Not sure on the sedan but on the coupe you pop off the ring around the shifter but prying on the back end of it. There are a couple of screws under there and also a couple between the seats and the armrest (slide seat forward).
On my latest dremel project I found out a good razor knife works really well for trimming. You can do just about the whole job with it. Then get some 600 grit sandpaper for the edges. I started my project with a dremel but did most of the work with the razor.
