NC Tint Issues
For all my boys in NC, what % tint are you running, and have you had any issues with police? I'm gonna tint my car pretty soon and I'm torn between 20 or 35%.
Dude, www.ncdot.org says you can't have lower than 35% ON ALL WINDOWS! ******* bastards are going to nail me within a month of moving there because 20% on the back windows is legal in TX and that's what I have. It says they check your tint at every inspection, and they charge you $10 extra for the privilege. Sweet. I'm going to loooove NC.

For what it's worth, I have a few friends with 20% tint and they haven't had any problems with police, but they haven't been pulled over either. They've paid their way through inspections, but as far as if you were pulled over, I don't have any experience with that one.
NC does suck in a lot of ways, but it's not as bad as you think.

i'd just go with 35% and do the windshield 50%/35% as well since they dont use stickers on the windshield anymore.
its the biggest hassle to find a shop to pass you with tint.

Sooo... can anyone recommend a shop anywhere around Raleigh/Durham that will let the 20% tint slide with a little tip?
I remember having to do this back in the late '90s when I was driving a turbo RX7 with a Racing Beat str8 exhaust - the shop that sold me the car and installed the exhaust also did inspections... of course they came right out with it (with a Lebanese middle-eastern accent) "Yes my friend, we will pass your car and it only cost you extra $25 - CASH only my friend!". Good guys.

honestly (not to wasis), just go to any of the shops that the "brothers" are working at. most of the time they dont even care and will def take a 50 spot on the side. theres a couple oil change places on Glenwood near the Firestone that definitely do that
