Hey guys, with hurricane Ivan coming; the potential shortages of gasoline, our houses and apartments in need of repair... I think the responsible thing to do is notify Lokey that a good number of us will not be heading to Tampa next Saturday.

I just spoke with DED via internet (he's in Colombia) and even he might not be back in town next weekend. I personally will not leave my family for an out of town event if there is any chance of danger. There are just too many things going on now for me to continue with my previous obligation. So, officially, I'm canceling my participation in the Tampa meet this coming Saturday. If something drastic should change then by all means I'll reconsider, but this just doesn't seem like the smart thing to do (for me atleast).

Just want to give Lokey a proper heads up and the rest of you an early notice. Now if I could just get an insurance adjustor out to see my roof.......

Sorry to hear that and hope you'll reconsider. The forecast track puts Ivan at best near the Florida Straits on Saturday morning, so I think it will be far enough away. Obviously, as the week progresses we'll have a better idea.

We are still on and looking forward to seeing you all. For those of you dealing with damage from these storms, my best wishes go out to you. Stay tuned to this thread for updates as the day gets closer!

PP, glad to see you are still going to make it.

As you all can see, Ivan is now forecasted to not be in our lives until Monday or later. We are still a go here, and are looking forward to having a good time with all of you on Saturday. I know that I am viewing this as a chance to make up for the bad holiday weekend we had, and get out a little bit before we are hiding from the next storm.

I urge everyone to make the effort to attend if possible- we all deserve a decent weekend for once!
