I was the big winner. I walked away with a $4.00 CASH prize for the evening. At one point I was up some $15.00, but decided to give a little back. [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]

Truth be told, I actually saved about $60-$70 by not playing pool, darts, and eating out for 2 meals.

we can raise the stakes a little next time, but i figured we had 4 or 5 beginners and should let them learn first.
also, i normally play with poor college kids 3 or 4 times a week...not rich engineers once a week, therefore losing $10 in a night is a little different for them

but yeah, i think $10 buy-ins with 0.25/0.50 blinds would be better and stop Jeff from saying "ALLL-INNNN" every other hand

Your buy-in should be about 200 times your big blind. To keep people from calling all-in every other hand you could have a $10 tourney with no re-buys. This way they know if they get called and lose they'll be watching everyone else play for a couple of hours.

I look at poker night with friends as a way to hang out and save money spent at a bar. You don't want people going away mad.

Any plans to do it again?? Sucks I missed this (haven't been checking the forums lately, so looks as though I missed a bunch of events). I'd like to get in on the next "round" tho.

 

Actually this last Friday night (Oct. 5th) we all played darts at Trick Shots until ~9:00 and then went back to my house and played poker until 1am. Sean was the big winner of the night and I lost $0.15. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

I did learn that Ian is a Dorito eating machine and that you could easily lose a finger if you try to take the party sized bag away from him... [img]/w3timages/icons/wink.gif[/img]

We'll definitely be doing this again soon.
