I agree with Austin, SFL is as far as far can be from all the other Florida members and there's no point having a meet here that would be underrepresented locally. What's a way of getting more people to join the non-existant SFL G community, I don't know. Maybe we should just wait for more new members to join the site because we don't have much to work with as of right now. One would think we should have turnouts at least as big as the CFL ones on a bad Friday but we can't even get this many people to come out once a month.

I understand though that this is to a great extent due to everyone's location and the fact that South Miami/Kendall/UM guys have to drive 35-40 miles to a meet held in Broward. Maybe we should set up a meet that's closer to them since the Boca/Broward people seem to be the ones more willing to drive.

Inform yourself first, there were 9 Gs that showed up at Markham and only 7 of them had FL plates (and props to the other 2 who attended!). So you do the math.

All that being said, I realize that the thread is about SFL car meets and is not aimed at creating a S Fla G35 community/chapter of any kind, so I digress........

35-40 miles, Big Deal! I drive 55 miles round trip to work every day. Lokey Infiniti is ~130 miles ONE WAY from my house and this will be the second time I've been there for a meet. I'm not sure what the fuss is about. If the Miami people want to have a SFL Club they should be willing to drive WHATEVER distance it takes for them to be involved. Especially if the Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville guys are willing to make a 4+ hour drive to Miami to support the club... I just don't get it. Heck, G35Sean drives ~40 miles (one way) every Friday to hook up with the CFL people. Russ drove down from Jacksonville last week, Jaxg35 and his TT buddie drove over from Sarasota, SFLG35 drives over about once a month from Tampa (and other guys do the same)... Either you're hard core or you're not and it's time for the Miami group to step up to the plate so that we can schedule MIAMI meets for the FGC.

It's not really about how much we have to drive, SFL is just not that friendly of a place. I am lead to believe there's something about the people in Orlando/Tampa. Their Nissan meets up there always have greater turnouts than Miami. The guys often drive down for our SFL meets but I've personally never been to any CFL meets even though I'm all for participating in club events.

LOL yeah at least 2 of us in Broward will be under 40! It bothers me everytime I see some old guy/ lady driving a G unaware of what a pimp ride they have

So are you eventually getting your car from Warren Henry?

Well, John got with me to confirm that Jose was actually a FGC member. I sure hope he'd get his G through Lokey. After all, they are club sponsors and they don't have the "reputation" that Warren Henry Infiniti has. Plus, I'm hoping that Lokey Infiniti (after selling a few cars to our club members) will continue to sponsor our club in a big way!!!

Well I've always been treated well at Warren Henry so I can't complain, I know the sales manager and a couple of other people and they're really cool guys when it comes down to it, but too bad I'm not buying from them....

As a matter of fact, I just got of the phone with Larry at Lokey, I gave him a deposit and he said he will call me back with a delivery date with in the next week, where as with Warren Henry, i've been waiting for any kind of info since August. Needless to say, I'm going tomorow to happily cancel my order at Warren Henry. They always treated me with much respect, but theyre suppose to.
PS. Larry said i should have it by the 2nd week of Feb.

Jose,

I want to ask you for a favor. Once you go through your purchase with Lokey Infiniti I'm going to request a write up from you. I'll send the write up on to a forum moderator and have him "unlock" the Lokey Infiniti thread and add your post for you, then have him "re lock" the thread. I'll ask every member of FGC who participates in the Lokey Infiniti New Car Purchase Program to do this. This will serve 2 purposes. (1) It will keep us all informed as to how this program is working and (2) it will give the club a little leverage when John asks his boss for future events, raffle donations, etc...

Congrats on your new G!!!
