SOHO motorsports what you need to know!!!

I live 3hrs away from their NC shop. I had a 3hr drive with a 1pm appointment. I arrived around 11:20am. There was a car sitting on the dyno so we unloaded my G and left to get something. We came back and sat in their lobby. About 12:55 we asked them to let us know when my car goes on the dyno. My G was pulled into the pre inspection bay and the bay door was let down. I wondered why they closed the bay doors as if they didn't wont anyone looking. So I asked someone at the front desk why they closed the door when my car was pulled inside and was told it was because the air conditioning was on. Kind of puzzled me because the doors were opened every since we had arrived. I told the front desk that I wanted to be their when my car goes on the dyno. I was told that you could only go back for the last pulled and that was them doing us a favor at that. I have been racing a long time and had never heard of not being allowed to watch your car dyno. I asked if I could sit in my truck in back and not in the dyno bay when they start. I was told I could not be on the property in back at all period. I was then told that it has always been their policy. Well two people that came with me nipped that in the bud saying that was not true and that they watched their car pull from first base line to the final pull. So they retracted that statement they back up on that saying it was a policy change. But yet you sign a paper saying pretty much that they are not responsible for any damages or losses with your car. So after expressing my dis pleasure with that, Shortly their after a guy comes out and says with a look of distain that they would not dyno my car. I asked why, and was told my car failed their pre inspection with the main concern being I had painted my single exit exhaust with VHT high temp flame proof header paint. I was told that it could catch fire and burn their shop down? That is a new one for me. Also that my pcv was block off even though the tubes from my Z1 3" pipe hose to the valve covers were still hooked up. Also their was a 1 lug nut missing off my front tires which only the rears would be on the dyno anyways?
Now this is what I think, the car that was sitting on the dyno at about 11:20 was still on the dyno till we left around 1:45pm. So I think they were behind and had to get the car on the dyno done or who ever was next even though I had a 1pm appointment. And oh yea they said that the paper I signed said they could even just deny to dyno my car period. So, out of anger I said some pretty not nice things about how I was being treated and I felt I was being shot a bunch of BS. They said I could leave my car and I pretty much said hell no, I was not going to come back and get hit with stupid bill for nothing.
Moral of the story is, if you have any VHT high temp flame proof paint on your exhaust, missing a 1 lug nut on your front tires (which wont be on the dyno), pcv blocked off or don't have rear 02's (which on the phone they said was ok when I made my appt. all of a sudden changed). So before you make arrangement with this shop to have your car dyno. Make darn sure you know about their policies in advance in which I was never informed about up front and wasted $200 worth of gas pulling the car up there. I guess I wouldn't have gotten so upset had I known about what I thought was bs reasons not to dyno my car. I think they were pissed because I made a stink about not being able to see my car being dyno from start to finish. Especially if something went wrong and they take no responsibility.
Now with that said I did call back and apologize for telling them it was a bunch of BS in which I felt it was. I am cool now and bear no ill will against SOHO but yall should know these things in advance, so no one goes through what I did. Oh and by the was I called another prominent G shop and asked if the VHT on my exhaust would be a problem and was told absolutely not nor any of the other so called maintenance items SOHO claimed. One last thing about not being in the back or inside the fence when a car is being dyno, while we were loading my G up. Guess what the car that had the dyno tied up started dyno pulls literally a few feet from us. Well that kind of contradicts everything they said.
Again I regret getting upset and called to back to express that and would consider doing business with them in the future, Just sad things went the way they did. So use your own judgement in deciding to use SOHO motor sports and I'm sure plenty of folks have gotten good service from them in the past including the 2 people came with verified but could not believe what they saw and heard from SOHO left with the same feeling I did.

Thanks for posting your experience.
I had just emailed with them about the cost.
If I can’t watch then that place is not for me.
there’s always remote tuning. I’m probably going that way eventually.
Had talked to seymore4 about a year ago. He contributes a lot to Nissan and Infiniti forums.
I’m only an hour away from Soho but no one else does uprev around here.

Yeah after reflecting on what happened and talking to some local G owners it wouldn't be wise to return to that shop. I will be taking my G to another G shop that doesn't have any problem with me watching my car through the entire tuning process. Guess you live, you learn my friend.

Etuning is a solid option for most guys, you're just a number and a dollar sign to alot of these big shops.
