Re: Jax Group

No tint yet. I'm still trying to decide what kind and how much. A little nervous about it now. I've heard some horror stories and from what I hear the guys that do the tinting do not like to do this car. Wouldn't want them taking it out on mine.

My salesman did give me the name of a local clear bra installer who did another coupe in town. Haven't been able to get in touch with him yet though. Already have a couple of paint chips on the front bumper.

BTW, if you see my car on the road you'll know it by the strange black thing crawling onto the roof. On the plus side, XM sounds great. Overall I love this car and keep finding excuses to go somewhere.

Re: Jax Group

well, those guys i gave you that did mine did a good job. I'm just upset they won't put another layer on my sides for me. It took em bout an hour and a half and I got it back in the same condition i took it to them in.

When i was there the other day, they were doing a Carerra Turbo, so i think they are pretty careful with cars.

I agree that it makes a big difference if you have the sunroof cover open. I usually leave it closed for that reason. It feels like you have a spotlight on you.

Re: Jax Group

Tuscani. thats mine. I've been up to CompUSA twice recently. Had to go yesterday to pick up a cable for work, and also Tuesday, to pick up Flight Sim 2004 :-) BTW, don't remind me about this gold lettering!! I'm not a big fan of it, and Atlantic Inf. was supposed to remove it and put silver back on. Unfortunately, I keep putting it off. Oh well, guess it kinda distinguishes mine from the other Laser Reds. Tuscani, you don't work at the bank on Old Baymeadows and Baymeadows do you? There's a black Tiburon up there with a little work done to it.

To all those here worried about starting to see too many G's on the road, look at it this way. You could've bought a Z!!! That's what I had originally planned on getting, until I started seeing quite a few on the road. Now they are EVERYWHERE!!

Re: Jax Group

For sure, Saturday... the 9th sounds perfect, anytime is fine with me. Were you still thinking Hooters??? You can never have too much access to wings and beers. Thats what i always say!

Yeah... the 350's are all over now. I see about 5 of them to every coupe I spot.

Re: Jax Group

If any of you Jax owners are planning on hardwiring a V1 I just finished mine this weekend and can help. I now have extensive knowledge on how to disassemble our interior. Every time I thought I was done I ended up taking off another piece of plastic. I couldn't stop thinking to myself that I was taking apart a $40k car that I've made 1 payment on.

I won't be there Sat, I'm driving to VA on Friday. Have fun at Hooters, you all suck.

Re: Jax Group

I'm with you brother, I won't be there either. Taking the kids to Orlando this week-end. By the way, do you work at Mayport?

Re: Jax Group

Nismo: Yeah I work out at Mayport.

redwillow: Next Saturday would work for me.

Jax: As far as the install went I removed the A pillar cover, lower cover under the steering wheel, cover for the cig lighter, both pieces around the steering column, windshield wiper controls and a couple of other little things. I put the detector right behind the sunglass holder with the rear laser and radar antennae sticking out on the right side. The remote is located dead center of the instrument cluster with the wires running between the clear plastic and where it sits so all you see is the plug. The only thing it hides is 0-750rpm and 146+ on the speedo. The only wires you can see are from the detector to the roof liner, about 3-4". I have a good digital camera but every time I try to post a pic nothing happens.

Just turned 30 last month.
