Hmmmm let me think, I like 4 door cars as well, but only if they have the M letter in their name (M5 and M45)

I can understand dislking the BMW styling or price tag, but my gosh to dislike the driving experience it takes being a driver out of necessity. S2K's come close and so do Porsches (out of anything in the BMW price range anyway). The thing is, they are very involving cars to drive and any other car you drive afterwards seems so boring that it puts you to sleep. Then again I'm the type of person that loves the road course and downshifting into 3rd on the highway...

The CTS is hideous indeed No doubt it's a monster, but I would take the S2K's handling, weight and gearbox over this anyday. And trust me I have driven autotragic Japanese family sedans for the better part of the past 5 years and I too used to think that everything european was a POS. I'll take you for a ride in my car and you'll change your mind hehe =)

damn, this place is dead.

well anyways, i love the look of that CTS (the rims are ugly though), i hate the look of most BMW's. like i said the only one that i sort've like is the 6 series. but the 3 series all look the same, all the 5 series look like a bigger 3 series, and the 7 series are fugly. the Z's look too much like a car that snoopy would drive, and the M's are just suped versions of the 3 and 5 series.

ive driven mercedes, bmw's, infinitis (obviously), acura's, Lexus, and a viper at one point.

out of all those cars, the best overall car in my opinion are Lexus. the ride quality is amazing, and interior has nothing to envy from a bimmer or benz. i had a friend who owned an M3 2000, he said it's reliability was garbage, and he constantly had to be filling it with oil because the M engine "ate" the oil. wtf is that???? and the dealer said it was normal! ridiculous IMHO.

i'd take the offer, but i highly doubt you'd be able to change my mind

i'll stick to my japs

You gotta take her up on her offer smoke. Let's see if the M is all that she claims it is. Then you can report back your findings.

It's not all that at all. The "purpose" of the M3 is very similar to the G: it does a lot of things fairly well.. looks, performance, handling, luxury.. it just does them better and at a higher price.

The M-series look like souped up 3ers or 5ers just like the S4/RS4 look like souped up A4s, and just like any AMG benz looks exactly like its non-AMG counterpart. Out of all these cars, the M3 is the farthest from the 'souped up' description as the only body panels it shares with a regular 3-series coupe are the doors and roof. Everything else is completely different.

And btw there was no 2000 M3, so it must be either 1999 or 2001 My car doesn't eat any oil whatsover, actually I just changed the oil filter and was scared that I'd be running low on oil since it's been a few thousand miles since my last oil change. Turned out that I didn't have to add a drop. It's normal for high performance engines to burn a little more oil than a Camry, but some early M3s did have oil consumptions issues. Should all be covered under the 6yr/100k warranty and if your friend went to South Motors then that explains why they didn't bother to fix it. And to tell you the truth, your friend should have known better than buying a first year model BMW. It's no secret that european reliability isn't on par with Toyota/Lexus.

I can see where our tastes in cars differ, for example I could never own an Acura because of FWD, even though there's little things I love about Acuras like the Navi interface. It blows away any BMW Navi, even that in the new M5. If I had to choose between an IS350 and a new 330i, I'd take the 330i sport. Both look equally ugly, but the IS doesn't come in 6-speed and it can't hold a candle to a BMW's steering and handling. And these are my top 3 requirements for any car =) I too hate the Bangelized BMWs especially the Z4 and the new 3. But I'm not a fan of the Lexus styling either, the GS and IS both look like Hyundai Sonatas.

He just likes big family sedans with auto trannies and big trunks and back seats to fit all the groceries and baby seats Am I right or am I right? Hehe.. same way you can't put me in a Lexus. Countyline Lexus just sent me a preselected offer in the mail for 0% financing on the new IS350. They can't give those things away. Like I said, you're still welcome for a ride.

i honestly do not like the styling of the IS350 at all. i am a big fan of the GS400 like i stated earlier. im an even a bigger fan of the semi-auto paddle's it has like the ferraris

how could you call the 330i ugly? it looks exactly like the m3 only with nicer tires, exhaust, and a slightly more aggressive style. i dont like either, but that's just my stance.

you can take all the cheap shots you want, im use to it from my other forums auto trannies are best for miami traffic i had a manual prior to my G, and i absolutely hated it during rush hour. i dont race my car every time i hit the streets, so i didnt see the need to have a 6mt. although, there are times in which i wished i had the full power the car had to offer. hmmmm i dont know what the deal is against auto's.... tinman's car is an auto, i'd like to see it against a few M3's

yes i like 4 door family oriented, hyundai looking sedans but at the end of the day, i'd rather push a *** than ride in a german car.

ohhh, and i'll ask my friend which year his car was... i could've sworn it was a 2000, but maybe it's an 2001... btw, he traded it in for an X5 4.4 V8... same problems

The GS430 doesn't have paddles, only the IS does but once you've driven an M3 or an M5 with SMG you will agree that the IS paddles are pathetic What I didn't like about the old Modenas is that the paddles don't turn with the wheel unlike the M3/M5.. that was retarded because it kind of defeats the purpose of having them. I do like the GS a lot more than the IS, but then again an M45 is more car for the money.

I'm talking about the new E90 325/330 sedan.. the one with the Daewoo tail lights. If the new M3 looks anything like it, I'm done with BMW. The E46's are cool I'm not taking cheap shots at you, I can fully understand why one would want an auto transmission in that hell called Miami, when I lived there I had an auto too. Plus it comes in handy when you want to hold your gf's hand instead of banging gears with that stupid stick But hey at least you can drive a stick, I guess in my best Paris Hilton voice I could say "That's hot" lol.

I have never, ever raced a random car I came across on the highway. The only people I've raced have been friends and it's always been on deserted roads at night. So that's not why I bought a 6 speed. I just hate my rpm shooting up and down randomly when the auto decides to shift, and it doesn't help that the manumatic in the G blows. And there's nothing I love more than a perfectly executed downshift. What about Tinman? His mods alone cost more than my car hehe. I love that car, it made me famous

are you sure that the GS doesnt have the paddles??? i saw in a lexus commercial that it did come with paddles... or maybe im confusing it for an IS commercial... hmmm... now you made me question my first instinct. ive never been inside a ferrari much less driven one, but what you describe is true. it's stupid to have a shifter that wont go with the wheel. but i guess that goes back to the roots of the paddles from F1 racing (which i love by the way). the wheels dont turn much, so the paddles were not made to turn with the wheels.

i cannot say im sure which model of the 3 series looks like a daewoo, to be perfectly honest, i rarely even look over at these cars. unless it's a girl driving it, yes that will usually catch my attention so what car did you drive will living down here? do you ever plan on moving back? yes, driving while holding your gf's hand is great, not to mention i actually get to drink coffee in the morning by the way, that was a GREAT paris hilton impression lmao

i DO race random cars in the streets. never during heavy traffic or anything, but the ultimate factor for me buying the G was the fact that it provided a manu-matic mode. why? because even though i hated manual, i still like to play with the shifter from time to time not to mention RWD, the luxury and power. although the power is crap compared to your precious. tinman has an automatic G, that's all i wanted to say about him
