I thought $50 a week for some gas is expensive. Thanks! That made me feel better...

I was spending about $150 a week in my Ranger. That would be closer to $170 week in the G.

(I'm pretty damn well sure this post will make a whole hell of a lot of you feel better about what you pay for gas. At least I hope so)

Filling up my wifes Durango last night cost me about $78.00 or so. The pump stopped at $75 and then I put in like another 3 or 4 dollars. And that was after the .06 savings from Vons Club. My Beetle takes almost $50 to fill up. Can't wait to get the G back and watch the price jump for that from the Beetle.

Later,

Ray

Here is the answer:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12801825/

Dogwood Energy says it costs about 75 cents per gallon to make ethanol at home. Adding 15 percent ethanol to $3 gasoline reduces the cost of a fill-up to $2.40 per gallon, McClanahan said.

A blend with 85 percent ethanol cuts the cost to $1.09 for a blended gallon, she said.
