I know what you're saying. All the 'official' guidlines are very strict, and we all know those guidelines are never followed. Police profile all the time, and there are many racists, biased etc. just like the rest of the population.

I agree with Jimmy though, dosen't sound to bad. Was he talking down to you or talking mean? If he was really racist, he probably would have hassled you alot, asked alot more questions, given you a speeding ticket and confiscated your bazooka too

If you ever met me in person, you would know I am brown middle eastern. My full name is Kamal Ali Chohan. Has anyone else been asked if they had a bazooka in the car?

honestly bro... i've been asked that a few times. I don't think it had anything to do with your race (atleast I hope not) They try to say wierd stuff like that, to try and get a reaction (facial impressions, etc.) Just thought i'd let you know it's happened to me a few times, so you don't feel as bad.

well it kind of reminds me of this one time back in high school. I'm asian btw. where there was an ongoing thing with cops and taking pictures of asian kids. why you ask? according to them, they wanted to keep the pictures just incase for gang reference. anyone remember that?

yikes, he can impound my car but I would never let him take my bazooka. Greg, are right that officers profile all the time but is that right? All im saying here is that hes an @$$hole for saying that. Sad thing is that he is an officer and knows he will get away with saying that. Sucks but watever. Not all cops are bad, its just him.

I guess this is common in heavy gang areas. When I was a juror in a gang muder trial, the detectives and attorneys talked about how it was standard practice to take pictures of people on the street they suspect could be involved in gang activity...

Its the sad truth my son...

If there was such a thing, what would it be in reverse, if a minority cop was not being PC to a white motorist. You guys think of some good ones...

like

Wonderbread, you got any knives, guns or mayonnaise on you today?

I can tell you I am a cop and don't ask things like that, but some cops do to lighten the mood. You took it out of context. Did he run your driver's license and the VIN on the vehicle. If he thought you were up to no good he would have done at least this, if not asked for consent to search your vehicle. Also, if he thought you were up to no good, there would have been at least one to two other cops there. I've heard bazooka, hand grenade, and other such things asked to white people as well.

its a regular S500 with no stickers and my turban was at the dry cleaners... I do understand that its routine but I have never been asked anything like that before(ive been pulled over a bunch for speeding, etc) nor have I ever heard another officer ask anyone of my friends. I am sure he was trying to lighten the mood but atleast think b4 u speak. Its like saying bomb in an airplane just for fun... Sorry guys im not over reacting but I know there have been a lot of law suits because things like this. I would have thought officers now a days would be especially careful.
