AHH I GOT A TICKET! anyone know a good/cheap traffic lawyer?
well i cant take traffic school again.. my last ticket was 17 months ago! -_- lol so that makes me uneligable for traffic school. I DONT want a point on my record and IMO its worth the $ for a traffic lawyer.. so anyone have any past experieces with these guys?
I got a ticket for 80 in a 65 on the 10fwy at 5:40am -___- on my way to school today... i wasnt even in the G too
courts in pomona btw.. this isnt with radar.. this was just some CHP that entered the freeway on the on ramp and pulled me over right away

well think theres a chance of beating this? i was on the #4 lane (outta a 5 lane freeway)
it was 5:40am.. traffic was about 70-75.. i was going 80 (Course i didnt admit i was going 80) he was entering the freeway and happen to pull up behind me after merging off his ramp.. and bam..
IMO its worth the $500-1,000 to have NOTHING on my record.. i'm sure 100% i can get the 12 months especially since its been 17 months since my last ticket..

i'm in the same situation as you - got a ticket a few weeks ago and my last ticket was a year ago. someone referred me to this website: www.ticketassassin.com. there's some pretty helpful stuff on there, so you might want to check it out. either that, or you can try begging the judge to let you take traffic school again (which is what i plan on doing)
step 1. go to court and ask for a trial date(before the appear date on
ticket). You'll need to post the amount of the ticket as bail.
step 2. about 2 days before the trial date, ask for an extension
step 3. about 5 days before the new trial date, request a trial by declaration
step 4. go to ticket assasin.com
step 5. prepare a trial by declaration. In it, deny that you were speeding
present arguments that the officer could not have clocked you due
to whatever conditions existed
step 6. ask that if the court finds you guilty that you would like an
opportunity to attend traffice school
step 7. submit your trial by declaration on or before the due date. Hand
deliver it to the courthouse and get a receipt that you filed it.
step 8. wait about 45-60 days to see if officer responded.
step 9. if officer responds and you are found guilty ask for trial in person
(I forgot the actual term)
step 10. attend trial
step 11. present your evidence and plead for traffic school if found guilty
by this time, the officer may have been transferred or may not even remember or care about the ticket.
step 12. wait for the judges decision.
Thats my 12 step process. But truthfully I only got as far as step 8. The officer didnt respond. Case dismissed.

Honestly, I don't see any hope you winning this case so I wouldn't even bother with a lawyer. The bottom line is that you went 80 in a 65 and there is nothing more to argue. I know many people who have hired lawyers for cases like yours (only 15mph over, even 10mph over for some) and when it was all set and done, the judge ruled in favor of the cop.
If I were you, I'd ask for traffic school since it is just about 18 months. The judge will likely give you the option (I'd say an 80% chance). With traffic school, you get nothing on your record guaranteed and save a 1/3 of the price over going with a lawyer.
Just my .02

just an FYI, cop needs to follow you atleast a mile to messure ur speed. If he has followed u at least a mile and u didnt notice it, i don't think its worth fighting but if not u can give it a try.
