Lakes close to L.A. County

soooo, since it's summer and all, I'd like to take my family to a couple lakes near L.A. county.

I went to Lake Perris a few weeks ago.

Anyone know any other Lakes that are nice enough to have a little grill to do some BBQ and the water is nice and warm/clean..

please post locations and addresses.

Thanks in Advance!

I was thinking the Lake that's close to Six Flags, anyone been there?

Lake Castaic...been there million times. The lower lake is good for BBQ'ing but you gotta makle reservations to get a BBQ picnic area all to yourself if it's on a crowded day such as weekend or holiday...

Pyramid is even better at 20 miles more north on the 5 (from Castaic)...

Go to pyramid lake much bigger and more places to explore. Do you have a jetski this would be an awesome place to ride it in.

There's a lake in my backyard! Off of lakeforest...It's a man made lake but you get a nice lake that is attached to your backyard but you pay a hefty 2.5 and up price tag....

Irvine lakes aren't private...the ones that are are too small to even have thier own names, are. Irvine Lake isn't private but is more for fishing...the rest are small and suck.

Ghetto but close: El Dorado Lakes in Cerritos...off the 605 Fwy.
Even more ghetto: Legg lake in El Monte

No swimming in either of the above. But very short drives.

Castaic and Pyramid Lakes are hot as hell right now. 1.5-2 hour drive from Gardena on a Saturday morning at 9am.

Silverwood lake: Kinda lame. http://www.rockymountainrec.com/lake...silverwood.htm

Big Bear Lake: This is the nicest lake in So Cal. Longest drive too though. 9am 2.5 hour drive from Gardena. www.bigbear.com Directions there also.

I personally didn't like Lake Pyramid...don't know. The people there made it suck. Castaic's always been one of my favorite places to go. Big Bear's always nice to go...best scenary in socal and the fishes are that bad.
