Exclamation sways loose..no all tools..need help!!!! (310)

i put my hotckis sways on a couple weeks ago with the help of a buddy. at lunchtime today, i started getting a rattling underneath the car - probably the sways, i'd say. more than likely, an endlink bolt is loose.

every car buddy i know is out of town or busy, and i don't have a jack, jackstands, or torque wrench.

anyone on the westside with those tools able to help me out?

Well wouldn't it be time to buy a simple set of metric tools? You can get at the endlinks if you take off the wheel or maybe CAREULLY driving one wheel onto a curb and CAREFULLY going underneath.

I'm just short the torque wrench, but could get one perhaps.

Bah, screw the torque wrench. If the bolt/nut is on the end link, they are both stainless steel. Which can tolerate a big variance in torque. As you probably know, too loose is probably worse then 10-30% too tight. When I was taking off all my nuts/bolts during my install, I noticed big variances in how tight stuff was. Swaybars aren't that critical for torque.

If you get a small 3/8" drive socket set with the short 12" handle, I doubt you would be able to overtorque these bolts to the point of breaking them anyway.
