+1 on El Cholo. Also, there is a Yard House (www.yardhouse.com) near that theatre. If you want something "nicer", with good affordable food then I recommend Cafe Bizou (www.cafebizou.com/). Already mentioned , but watch out for cops - sometimes there are checkpoints in the evening - usually before jumping onto the 110S.

tinman, if you're hungry after the movie, head south down Fair Oaks and there will be a taco truck on your lefthand side parked in front of Nishi Auto Parts

Theres quite a few places to eat at Paseo which would probably be most convenient. If you eat at old town, which is just down the street, Twin Palms is good. They often have live music on weekends.
