+1 on El Cholo. Also, there is a Yard House (www.yardhouse.com) near that theatre. If you want something "nicer", with good affordable food then I recommend Cafe Bizou (www.cafebizou.com/). Already mentioned , but watch out for cops - sometimes there are checkpoints in the evening - usually before jumping onto the 110S.

i've been in Yard House... can't go in there without drinking,their alcohol list is very impressive LOL

Il Fornaio for decent moderately priced Italian...
Twin Palms for eclectic Californian...
Gyu Kaku for Japanese BBQ...
Kabuki for traditional Japanese...
Cheesecake Factory for blah whatever...

all in Old Town on or just off Colorado.

Pasadena is full of places to eat.

tinman, if you're hungry after the movie, head south down Fair Oaks and there will be a taco truck on your lefthand side parked in front of Nishi Auto Parts

pretty dammmmm good tacos man =)

Theres quite a few places to eat at Paseo which would probably be most convenient. If you eat at old town, which is just down the street, Twin Palms is good. They often have live music on weekends.
