All the more reason you guys should run on road tracks
Why do you say that? Or was that directed at someone else?

i don't think gagaracing was directing at anyone in particular.

he's just one of the few G-peeps that road courses his car.
it's very fun but very costly too.

Ya sorry if that came off wrong... just the thrill of road racing cant come close to draggin. Ive done my share of drag... Although Im sure getting in a 100HP car and taking a run down the strip it one hell of a thrill.

It does suck how they keep cracking down on street racing and closing more and more tracks... Ive lost a lot of friends to street racing and Im glad that they are cracking down but the least they could do is give us a place to go.

Well to each their own. I personally think it is just as thrilling to drag race just different. All in what you enjoy I guess. Sorry to hear you guys have so few options though. It does seem a bit insane that they think something people have done for 50 years is going to just STOP because they close the tracks.

Cheryl....

Longjohn is good guy and has retired and they just posted a link on the old LACR site that says he bought the Bama Dragway in Sumiton.

I just found this page, which you might find a good read:

You're lucky you've got Bernie and his family now... take good care of them!

He sounds like a great guy. I am hopeful that they will decide to expand the track to a 1/4 mile. There appears to be enough room but that can be misleading sometimes. That is one of the best run tracks around and the only problem with it is the fact that it is only an 1/8th mile. I just hope they don't change the GOOD things about it. It's the only place I know of with test and tune on Sat nights.
