Headed home from Mission Valley after watching a movie, we were on the 8 west going onto the 163 south towards downtown. As we are going on the onramp for the 163, all the cars started slowing down - unusual for 1pm - and veering towards the left hand side. Then some few cars pulled over to the right side.

First though - somebody rear ended somebody else.

First visual - some exhaust manifold had fallen. Odd that it was soo small.

Second Impression, people rushing towards the back of the on ramp looking DOWNWARD.

Final visual - a very nice red Japanese mortorcyle on its side - NO DRIVER.

Somehow, someway, a motorcyle driver got into an accident and HE FVCKING FLEW OFF THE ON RAMP. However his motorcyle remained on the on ramp. We pulled over to dial 911, but there were already 4 or 5 cars doing that and 911 was all jammed up. We went home, and 5 minutes later my wife called 911 from a landline and reported it (after waiting on hold for 5 minutes )

Anyways, I suspect that the motorcycle driver has died. Here's the first report: http://weblog.signonsandiego.com/new...es/022553.html

My wife was so rattled about it, because she suspected that death was certain even though we never saw the driver, that she scolded me and said that's why you shouldn't drive reckless!!! Although she is right, I felt bad that she was mad at me too.

Anyways, be careful out there. All it takes is a split second.

About 3 stories. I can't hang out there and measure but that would be my best guestimate.

Damn that sucks, any updates? The link only says "possible fatal accident". Hope the driver made it.

My close friend(pretty much my brother) past away last month on the fwy too.
What's kinda odd is that after a couple weeks another motorcyclist past away in the same exact location. Is it a defect on the architectural design of the freeway?
We sure know that he was a good rider.

Nope. He didn't make it. Update here: http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/m...bn26fatal.html
But how do you just drive straight into a wall? Unless a witness is lying? WTF? Why would somebody do that?

Tell me about it!!! WTF??? What's the point of 911 if you have to remain on hold for so long?

311 is faster, but I don't know if you can call that number unless you're on a landline...

I feel bad for that guy...

A good reason I'll never get on a bike and hate that my dad owns one

If you ride, be careful...
There's too many drivers that don't respect motorcyclist.
