plenum spacer problem

for those of you who have a plenum spacer on your car.. when you first slap it on does the check engine light go on? because mines does and it kinda bothers. will dealer take this is and have it checked up and reset the problem with out taking it out? or will they wont even touch the car since you did mods to it? any suggestions would help. Thanks in advance!

should not come on.

dealer may or may not help you out. I would count on not helping you out unless you wanna pay for it just like any other shop. obviously they may not cover it under warranty.

reset your computer for starters and see if it goes away.

Your car might have a vaccum leak or you might have not not reconnected a connector. make sure all the hoses are on and the plenum bolts are the correct tq specs.

If you have to take it out and take it to the dealer. Don't tell them you've modded it otherwise you can kiss your warranty good bye.

The other common problem is trapping the rubber piece that goes around the oil fill cap in between.

i didnt have to take any of the hoses off.. it was just a quick bolt on. and like 5 minutes into the ride the light came on.

you sure you didnt disconnect anything, when I did my spacer I had to disconnect hoses and electrical connectors. If you didnt take anything off it is a good possibility that you may have ruptured a hose or broken a wire. you should pop the hood turn your car on and listen for vaccum leaks, listen for any hissing sounds.

i will try that.. the only tube i took out was the intake end that was connected to the plenum, thats it.everything else was on stuck on to the upper plenum. anything inside the plenum i should know about?
