if anything you can just cancel the G's registration and list it as inactive until you're ready

If you're like me, the insurance will be CHEAPER with multiple cars. Get only liability (and probably comprehensive as well) on the beater, then move the G to a "pleasure vehicle" that you put low mileage on.

EDIT: Just saw johnjayb beat me to it.

I'd say go for it on the beater. I'm getting one soon - I'll (hopefully!) save money on less G maintenance and less gas. Plus I can't wait to park on a city street and not worry about all the a$$holes who can't park. Just last night we sat outside on my friends' porch in Georgetown and watched all kinds of people bumping into bumpers while trying to park - it was ridiculous!

$3300 for used TAs? Sell them! That's almost how much they cost new with tires.

Ryan you already have a beater, (your lexus). having a hachiroku would be cool if it were 7 years ago, but not now. You will be putting all of the money you would be spending on your G, on your Hachi. I bought a FC3S last winter to setup as a drift/autox/touge car but once I bought it coming back to G35driver made me realize how much more work I want to do to the G. The Club 4AG guys are a shady bunch. Most of them own hachi's because that's all they can afford, and they spend every last dollar they have on them. I say don't do it!!!

Here's a pick of my FC:

p.s. I just started watching the Initial D series again for the 3595872247th time lol

do it at your own risk though! You'll hate your G after you see it sitting on some stock Z rims.

Actually Insurance would be cheaper if you already have mulitiple cars registered and your G was your latest car purchased..

Beater on Liability will bring your insurance but you have to include cost of beater etc..

Put it this way I'm shared with my family on insurance but for me to buy a new Yaris it wont be worth it until gas hits $6.50ish pre gallon.. as much as that sounds.. I'll be at a loss until that price..

but if your buying the tofu car then you should be good =) I'm planning to get a Yaris in the future or do a civic hatch =).. I want a small FWD Hatch =P
