Any ideas on resolving the "Check Engine Light"?
Hello fellow G members and Forum Friends. I need your help and any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
I have an 07 6MT coupe in which today mark the one year anniversary of my purchase. Anyway, after changing the signal blinkers by removing the stock intake and tested the light while the intake was disconnected (without turn on the engine), I was experencing the "Check Engine Soon" indicator light. I thought that it would soon go away after re-installing all part back to normal, But after 3 months, it doesn't go away. I took it to the dealership for testing many time and they blamed it on the Greddy T1 full pipe exhaust in which I installed a couple months after this incident. They said that it leaking vapor from the exhaust pipe and urged for me to re-check all of the hoses and connection points.
I do not see any problem with it. Well, to make long story short, the light was "OFF" for 2 months and just once more turned on again today. I did not do anything to the car or add in anything that would trigger it. I am lost and don't know where to turn to for answers and solutions.
I am asking for your expertise and past experiences to assist me in all ways possible. Are there ways to fix this problem without ignoring it or disconnecting the fuse?

Wow, wish I knew what to do to help. I have a full intake and exhaust as well as a replaced engine. I have an INJEN CAI and Kinetix plenum on the intake side while on the exhaust side I have headers, test pipes and the Stillen true dual exhaust. Through all this I've never had that light come on. The only problem I have is that the Cruise control does not work. If I hear of anything, I'll let you know.

Lol... dealerships make me laugh. They always look for aftermarket stuff to blame for CEL. Must be your aftermarket wheels because they mess up your ECM by going at different speed due to the different diameter size. Hence your ECM is all screwed up and turned the CEL on for o2 sensors going bad.

like the guys said go to autozone and get the code
or reset it by disconnecting the battery(negative) for a couple of mins
I disconnected mine when i forgot to put the air sensor back on my pop charger when i started the engine. I left mine for a couple of hours just to make sure. When i put it back on the light was gone.

Thanks All for your great feed back, looks likes all of your ideas can help me after all, I have not try any of these but I will let you know, first, I am going to get the ACTRON OBD II scanner and get the code. I will then post it up for all to review for further clarification. Disconnecting the negative battery would be my last choice as I want to make sure everything is working in order before proceeding with the next mods to my car.
Once again, thank you very much and I'll be keeping you all updates.

That is what I have and use (many times, on many cars).
Comes in real handy...

How easy are these to use? I've only used the Actrons and they
are very simple.
