Drove up to Lake Castaic this morning @ 12:30 am and saw about 38 meteorites in about an hour and a half of viewing. The sky was a lot more clear out there than in the SFV, and many of the later ones after 1:30am were spectacular.

Back in 2002 when I was up in Santa Barbara, we saw a few hundred perseids in 2-3 hours.

But tonight's show was nice enough. May do it again this weekend.

This morning was the peak of the Perseids. I believe that you can still see them a week/two weeks before and after the peak, just not as many.

I just wish I could've stayed out longer than 2am. The show was just starting to get good.
