Am I getting ripped off (paint repair question)?

So stupidly I scratched/dented my G the other day. I didn't think it was that bad though, it was that small panel in front of the rear right wheel (about 3x6 in)

There's a bit of wave that has spilled over into the actual full panel, but no paint damage. Anyway I took it to a reputable shop in North Hollywood, but they wanted $1151 to repair it (color match, sand, remove waves, etc). They mentioned they would have to clearcoat the whole panel in addition. I want to get a good job done, but the estimate sounds pretty high. I'm currently in Westside LA, but wondering if anyone has any suggestions on people who could give me a quality paint job without such a steep price? If people agree the price is fair, I'm willing to bite the bullet, but given how bad things are in the economy, just trying to save some cash. Appreciate any help or advice here.

that spot is gonna cost you a pretty penny to fix. I was quoted $900, but that was because I was getting other things done. I've heard others pay in the range of about $1000 or more.

Did you try any PDR guys? The clearbra protected your paint so I would imagine you just need to get the creases out

You live in SoCal, of course your getting ripped off....

I was charged $600 to fix a dent in my hood and respray the hood and front bumper two years ago. This is a entire panel repair and respray, so yeah, that's high, but not a rip off.
