nope. They look at engine bay, exhaust, etc... they do a full visual inspection during smog test.

not worth the expense imo... but they give moderate gains.

Edit: on you car it might be more worthwhile once Osiris is available - you have variable cam timing on both intake and exhaust... I can only controll intake side... If the exhaust side could be tweaked there might be more to like.

So how do so many in Cal run HFCs and pass smog.
Do they just replace the HFCs with oem cats before every test?
Seems like a PITA.

PM me your response if you prefer
I wanna learn!!

Keep in mind that you can't even purchase HFCs in the state of CA anymore.

HFCs in our state....?

The only way to pass smog is to buy the ORB2 HFC from Magnaflow but they want major $ for them. They laid my son off because of poor sales and when he was working there I could have got a set for $250....I believe retail is over $1K....Ouch! They have the CARB numbers stamped on the outside casing.

Some one on my350z posted a article that said 1 January 2009. So if you wanna buy HFC's your SOL, unless you buy them off of someone. I bought my brothers.

Correct, after Jan 01 it is illegal to purchase HFC in California from anyone, legally they would have to send the HFC out of state, than that shop will send it back in to you. But psssh you think anyone is doing that? Let me know if you want hfc

But yeah I know you got your crawfords Ray, too bad they dont make them for the 37.

When you finally decide to take the plunge and install HFCs or Test Pipes, Hit me up. I can install or uninstall them for a great price.
Let me know
