Welcome to SoCal....:)

LR-G if you could tell us exactly where in L.A. you're moving then we could be more help, SoCal is really spread out. San Fernando isn't such a bad place, my wife and I have shopped there and the taco's are great. Even with our economy I haven't seen prices drop on every day needs, it's still expensive to live here.

There is this Hamburger place that is in Santa Monica called "The Counter" It's a little expensive but its pretty good. You kind of design your own hamburgers.

i live in santa monica. check out sasabune on wilshire. about 3 mins away. omakase all the way!

OR for a trendy spot, sushi katsuya in brentwood. last time i was there, saw hilary duff and ryan phillipe. very trendy. need reservations for both spots.

for awesome sandwiches, Bay Cities Deli on lincoln blvd. long *** wait but excellent grub.
