can't deposit check from insurance company for stolen wheels

About a month ago I got my wheels stolen; I had them insured of course. A couple days ago I get my check from my insurance company (Mercury Insurance). The check was issued to my name and Infiniti financial services (got my car financed through them). Today, I go to my bank to deposit the check, the bank teller tells me I can't deposit the check until I get a "stamp" from Infiniti financial services approving of the deposit. I was like what the hell?? So I go to Cerritos Infiniti where I bought my car to see what's up. They tell me they can't stamp it and there's not much they can do and I need to call their 1-800 to figure it out. I called, but of course they're closed on the weekends. I call Mercury Insurance they're also closed.

Anyone experience anything like this? Let me now if you guys can help. Thanks.

To: IloveG (above) lol...is that your idea of a joke?

To the original poster,

If you are still making payments on the car it is not that much of a stretch to think that the check would be made out to both you and the company that finances the vehicle. Just give them a call on Monday and I'm sure they will help take care of it. By the way, how much were your wheels insured for if you don't mind? I think that stock wheels are insured for something like 6000 (since that is what it costs to replace them from the dealership), so I am considering removing the insurance for my Volks, because if something ever happened to them I would get more for OEMs than what I have them insured for. (3000)

your wheels should have nothing to do with the financing of the car if you bought them yourself even if they came on the car this really doesnt make since to me but i guess i am a little slow

you're saying i need to send infiniti finanical services a copy of the receipt? but the check is from the insurance company and not infinit.

you can only deposit a check to the account with both of your names on it

If the check is made out to two names and the only name on the acc is yours then they will not deposit it unless the other party releases it.

So either get your INS company to issue a check to your name only by proving that you were the only one who financed the wheels or get your lender to release that check to you.
