If anyone in the OC area or LA areas are at all interested in parts or service, I'd be glad to work with you on pricing and time-frame issues. I understand Riverside is at the edge of no-man's land for some, and we'll do everything we can to make it worth your trip out to us

also, side note: Alf, I LOVE YOUR WHEELS!!!
This coming from the guy who drives further to work than most of his customers?

Riverside Infiniti confirmed my excessive OC today. Ordered long block. Need to provide maintenance records. Dropping off tomorrow to begin tear-down (wish I could help ). Hope this goes smoothly.

It will. Riverside Infiniti will take care of you and Tony will even help out if need be. I picked up my ride Friday and breaking it in now..

I'm curious. Which service advisor did u use..?
I would goto Jeremy...!

Been treated so well, it has changed my whole outlook on Infiniti. I've been bashing Infiniti for years ,Up until the last couple of months since I've been taking it to riverside Infiniti..
Shoot, I said I would never buy another Infiniti ever. Now ?? Who knows..? Since my car should be okay for the next couple of years... Maybe G39...?? Lol
Tustin Infiniti blows.. Service there is sheeyat...!!!!

My service advisor is Mike Longridge. He's been cool so far, although very subdued. I think Tony has been keeping an eye out. Mike said it's one of the worst cases he's seen. I don't doubt it. It's been consuming oil since 20K miles or so (I'm at 60K now). I've bought sooooooooo much oil for this car. Have just been too lazy to bring it in.

I try to avoid the dealership as much as possible. Had less-than-stellar experiences with Costa Mesa, Tustin, and Montclair. Actually have had better treatment at Nissan dealerships. Tony and Rick have always taken care of me so I trust the operation over at Riverside.

They are welcome to examine all the internals. Everything I can see looks extremely clean. Since the engine burns so much oil, I have to constantly replace the consumed oil. I submitted what maintenance records I have. When I asked Mike about the results of the OC test, he said that it consumed an unbelievable 40mm in 900 miles.

Dropped the car off this morning. Service advisor told me that he got approval for the new long block. Driving a new G37 sedan in the mean time. Pretty nice!

Man you guys are making me second guess buying a 05 6MT. The powertrain would be up in one year and if I got OC which it seems like a ridiculous percentage of 6MT's do, then I'd be screwed.

Picked up the car this afternoon, new long block and all. I've gotta say that Mike Longridge and the team at Riverside Infiniti made the whole process a breeze. Everything went so smootly. Service was fantastic. Dropped the car off Wednesday morning and picked it up just after noon on Friday. Let's hope v2 doesn't suck oil like v1 did. Oh, and BTW, the paperwork says that the consumed oil during the test was actually 48mm in 900 miles. According to the Oil Consumption Chart in the TSB, an engine is considered bad if the dipstick reflects 6mm or greater consumption between 500-1,000 miles. Mine was 8 times that much.

I'm in dental school right now and wanna be able to buy my car outright with my insurance check without taking out any additional loans.

Trust me I've considered adding on some more money to get the 335i or Z4 M coupe, but at this point the smartest financial decision while still giving me the most fun is just to buy another G35 and slap my existing mods I salvaged from my old G on it. Not to mention I'm also moving from 5AT to 6MT so it'll be a big difference for me even though it is the same car.

The only thing that's bugging me is the oil consumption issue!
