Roland Heights Speed Zone Meet?
Re: Roland Heights Speed Zone Meet?
I still havn't heard back from Patrick. I am going to try to get in touch with him before the Tuesday GTG. We need to make sure parking is not going to be a problem as Speed Zone lot is pretty crowded at times.

Hey All,
It's patrick. I will get with the contact person on Tuesday when i am back at my office. It would be exciting to see you guys here at SpeedZone. Parking is really not bad at all on Tuesday nights. I will work a deal with your contact on Tuesday. If anybody has any questions, feel free to email me directly at pwong@palaceentertainment.com
Thanks.

Re: Roland Heights Speed Zone Meet?
I got in touch with Patrick and here is the deal:
On Sept 21st 7:00pm (next Chino meet time) we can do the following:
A) Unlimited arcacde & mini golf all day for $10
Add unlimited Turbo Track for another $10
B) 20% discount on game cards
C) Unlimited racing on all 4 tracks* for $25 from 7pm-11pm
We can do one of the above three. For those who have not been to Speed Zone here is the breakdown on the tracks:
1) Turbo Track: Your typical go-kart, no skidding, no need to brake, pretty slow, big track. Line is not very long, difficult to be competitive.
2) Dragster: Drag racing maybe 50 yards in length? 6 cars side by side. I think these are V-8 powered and have pretty impressive acceleration. Long wait, short race.
3) Grand Prix: The technical course, higher power go-kart, very tight track. Emulates an AutoX experience. Time attack only.
4) Slick Track: This is where the fun is at. It's a pretty short track, but the surface is powdered down to make sliding around a breeze. Beginners will have fun spinning out while the more experienced drivers can practice drifting through corners. My favorite course by far. Every lap is timed and ranked on the score board. Usually longer line though.
As far as dinning, I still have the 20% off coupon at the Puente Hills Curry House, but the longer we eat, the less racing we can to do. The $25 package is only 7pm to 11pm. There is also a bar in Speed Zone and lots of places to get snacks around Roland Heights. We'll talk more about this tonight at the meet.

Re: Roland Heights Speed Zone Meet?
Patrick is going to ask his supervisor to see if we can either park behind their gate or reserve a section of the parking lot for us. Random parking there is not acceptable IMO, especially if this is a club event.

Re: Roland Heights Speed Zone Meet?
Amen on the random parking. We need designated parking.

Re: Roland Heights Speed Zone Meet?
yeah, unless we have a designated parking spot just for us, not for other peeps, it'll be interesting...
