I've been looking to repaint my front bumper because of all of the rock chips that have accumulated in the past months. I called MOBworks in OC (highly recommended by some members and bulletproof auto) and they told me to prepare, prime, paint, and install the bumper it would cost around $250. I wasn't sure if this was reasonable. But then I called Amatos in SD (recommended by Steve @ hopupracing) because it's more local and they quoted me $1000. So my question is does anyone have experience with the quality of work of these businesses or have any other paint shop that they would recommend?

hum.....my friend with an eclipse had a maroon colored car and he got his bumper painted and put on(b/c it needed two extra custom brackets) for about 600 bucks. he told me it was about 300 for each piece. they paint SEMA cars and their quality was really good.

They are near the end of the 105 freeway. Forgot what city that was. His shop name is Merzees.

Anything over $300 and you are getting effed in the booty. For $1000 they should provide you with some sort of lubricant to ease the *** raping.

Not that I've done it... but i'll probably be looking into doing something similar. Then i figured, for the money I'd put into getting the bumper redone/replaced, i'll probably go and get a Greddy bumper or something. Whether it's $250 or $1000, i'd probably invest that money towards getting a new bumper.

Still $250 sounds very good if it's quality work.
How much would they charge for the hood?
