Re: SEMA

I went to Sema last year. I had a friend that just gave me his badge/pass after he checked out the show. I'd say 50% of the people in the place weren't supposed to "technically" be at the show. It's pretty gay they don't allow the public general public gain admission.

Re: SEMA

The SEMA Show is geared towards "Buyers/Wholesalers" of aftermarket parts so they can become available to the buying public. On the otherhand, the SEMA International Auto Salon in Los Angeles and in New Jersey are versions of the SEMA Show that are open to the general public. Just like you mentioned, if non-industry people want to get in to SEMA they need to know someone from the inside to get them credentials.

Re: SEMA

I was just reading through the info that came with my pass and it says that they will be looking for a business ID along with a regular ID when you go to get your badge holder.

Anyone know exactly what they are looking for as far as business ID goes?

Re: SEMA

for a business ID, sometimes they wanna see a business card, but screw them....dont go get their shitty string badge holders, go into one of the main rooms and get the cooler "nismo R" badge holders...all the cool people have them....i might still have mine from last year

some company issues employee the id card or badge with picture.i guess company bussiness card is good enough.
just something to prove that you're working for that company is what they're after.

Re: SEMA

so here's the deal on the id and badge holder issue....

ID - Business Card and your Driver's Licence

Badge Holder - They have to be the one issued be SEMA. Badge holders identifies you as a Buyer, Manufacturer, Exhibitor, etc. You won't get through security without it and if you find a way to sneek in and they find you, you're out the door. Hehehe...

Re: SEMA

i think you are confusing "lanyards" with badge holders. the cool Nismo lanyards are free giveaways that Nissan hands out to everybody inside the exhibition halls. the badge holders you need to get from one of the SEMA Registration booths.

Re: SEMA

In the past, I have convinced them to led me in with no i.d. that matched the badge I had. Good acting always comes in handy when spewing a line of b.s. to the a-holes working security at SEMA.
