I was looking to buy a clay bar today. I stopped at Pep boys and Autozone but neither had just the claybar. Any ideas on where to go to buy one? Thanks

thanks eldy. I ended up going to kragen and convincing the lady there to just let me take a clay bar without having to buy that damn package from mothers that comes with the wax and spray which i already have.

 

but i have a question. do I Wash-claybar- then wax, or do i claybar-wash- then wax?

i already have eagle1 nanowax, and i had the meguiar detail spray for the claybar. Im not going to wax for obvious reasons, just gonna wash and clay bar for the oct. 2nd meet

 

wash(w/dishsoap eg. dawn) clay, use the lubricant spray or soapy water, wash, dry, rejex.=)

is it ok to use dishsoap to wash your car with??

 

for this instance, claying purpose, it's fine. dawn or dishsoap "strips" off any residual wax you already may have on your car.

but, after your car's completely protected with whatever wax or polish you decide to use, use carwash soap. I use meguiars gold class.

Hey what does the claybar do? I just wash and wax.

clay bar picks up the tiny particles that are stuck to your paint, that washing doesnt get rid of.
