If you have a Costco card, you can rent a car from them with deep discounts. For example, I rented an SUV for 4 days and with my Costco card, I only paid $190 for the 4 days with unlimited mileage.
Have a great time, just keep your eyes and ears open and you'll be fine. Obey the road rules, signal when switching lanes. CHP in SoCal are somewhat particular about that as well as tailgating. They will pull you over.
And visit some of the other tourist attractions if you can such as Universal Studios, Disneyland. Also, go to LA Live.

You should definitely check out the Getty Museum... It's completely free and all you have to pay for is parking.
It's a amazing place with beautiful architecture with breath taking views. I don't know if you're much of a Art Person but this place has an amazing collection.
Did I mention it's Free?

My trip is already goig bad. There was a mess up with my car reservation so I had to call around to make a new one. I had a res for a midsize suv now I have a ford ****edus. When I get the car and I'm getting ready to leave the lot I realize the car is dirty inside and out. The guy at the booth says I can go inside and get an exchange. So i leave the car by the booth. After I get the exchange and I head towards the hotel And realize i left the gps in the dirty car. I go back and the car is moved back to the spot I got it and the gps is gone. I'm going to be out 500

Awesome. I'm also going to the laugh factory are you going to the Hollywood or Long Beach club?
I also really want to go to the ESPY awards but don't know if I have to do something at that time I already voted for the ESPYS....
And i'm going to Knot's berry farm in place of 6 flags for an amusement park since i've been to 6 flags b4...its going to be quite a packed trip.

On another note, I'm a theme park fanatic! When you go to Knott's it's important that you go on Ghost Rider first or last!!! Very important!! The line for that ride get's insanely long and you'll get pissed if you are sitting in that line for 3+ hours. Get there when the park opens and stay till it closesfor a real good day.
So I understand that you have been to a S Flags before but remember, each Six Flags is different! Knott's is more tailored towards kids with only a few "ultimate thrill" rides which include - Scream, Ghost Rider, and Accelerator (which is pretty cool) The rest of the rides there are ok but nothing too spectacular. Magic Mountain (Six Flags) has the ultimate best ride ever made, X2!!!! It's a four dimensional roller coaster and there are only two of them in the world, and you can guess where the other one is... In Japan!!! It's in a little town on the way up the Mt. Fuji, it was pretty darn spectacular to see that on the way up to Mt. Fuji.
Anyway just some info i thought would help!
