Dealership in San Diego
Dealership in San Diego
Can anyone recommend a dealership to take your car to for warranty work. I looked up the reviews on yelp and all in my area seem pretty bad. The windows on my car are acting up and won't roll all the way up. It is under bumper to bumper for two more months, the one dealership I called acted like they didn't think it would be covered and implied it is due to abuse. The car is a 2007 coupe with only 30k miles. Now its leaking from the rain, I read up online and saw I can replace the motor but I don't want to if it should be covered under warranty.
Thanks!
Thanks!
I ended up taking it to the one in Carlsbad. They replaced the motors, however they say that the drive belts on my car are weathered and need to be replaced. The quote was $180, is this reasonable? I am planning on taking my car for service to Nissan this week as its at 30,000 miles, might ask them if they can do the belts or not. Mission Viejo is a little far for me, I've heard lots of recommendations for them and Riverside.
I'm not sure what O HELLA JDM's problem with Kerney Mesa Infiniti is? Since he just said not to go to them, instead of actually giving you a reason why, I'll tell you from my experience what IS good about them. I just got some new keys programed at Kerney Mesa Infiniti. I already had a key, I just needed them to program the transponder chip with their Consult II. They only charged me $65 dollars to do the work. They also performed a pending recall while my car was there. I didn't even know about a recall. They told me about it and they fixed it after I gave them the OK. After they were done with all the work, they washed my car and cleaned the interior at no charge without me even asking. They took very good care of me. I spoke to a service writer named Melissa when I scheduled my work. I would definitely recommend them as a dealer. They were very straight forward, not shady and took good care of me and more importantly my car. That's where I'd go again.

Buy the belts at your local parts store and I will install them for $20. You'll end up spending about $60 after install/parts. I can do your 30k service as well.

You might be the only person here that has ever had a good experience with KM Infiniti. And them washing your car is not a good thing, there's a 99% chance they added swirls and micro-marring to your paint.

On a side note, unless you use a touch free washing and drying process each and every time you wash your car it will develop swirls and mirco-marring period, no matter who does it or how much care they take. There's nothing you can do or use to prevent this. Regardless of how clean and soft your towels, brushes or whatever else you might be using are, it's going to happen. Not to mention just driving your car on the road exposes it to much worse damage than washing it ever could. Not only did the dealer wash it for free, but they did a good job without damage. Unless you own a show car which just sits in a garage under a cover and never sees the road, micro-marring caused by the dealer washing it will be the least of your worries. If you are that worried about it though, make sure you make a special request for them NOT to wash your car. I on the other hand, will gladly continue take a free car wash any day.
LOL @ the KMI supporter, there are multiple threads and posts out there about how HORRIBLE they are. no one has anything to prove to you, we're trying to do people who don't know a favor. If you choose to roll the dice there, that's on you.

I'm a professional detailer and use all the proper precautions and wash methods to not induce swirls when washing so your statement that every time you wash your car it adds swirls is a complete falsehood. Check out a couple detailing forums and you'll see the right way to wash a car.
Well it turned out it was the driver side window switch wasn't plugged in they said. I'm not quite sure I believe that the car needs belts already, it seems a little early. Are the belts usually replaced this early for these cars?
Agreed.

OK I respect you are a professional detailer, but you are incorrect. Simply put, when you have dirt, dust or anything on a surface it can act as an abrasive. Any time you disturb this surface with ANYTHING it will cause tiny little scratches that are not even visible to the naked eye. While there are methods that will reduce the amount and size of these scratches, it is impossible to prevent. While I agree with you that there are proper ways to wash your car without causing noticeable swirls and mirco-marring, there is NO WAY to completely prevent it. Being a professional detailer, I'm sure you know that preventing these scratches is not the key, minimizing and removing them is. Waxing, buffing and polishing are what makes a car's finish actually smooth, not washing. If by washing you car, you mean completely detailing it which includes buffing and waxing, then you are correct by saying it will be virtually swirl and scratch free after a wash. Again this is a result of polishing, not washing. You can WASH a car without causing obvious swirls and scratches, but no matter what precautions you take, on some level, even if not to the naked eye, there will be scratches there.
