anyone have any good halloween stories?
Here's mine, even though it wasn't quite halloween.
This actually did happen in October though, so many years back now. I jumped my old Eclipse GSX (the G35 wasn't out yet) and was leaving my night class at school, it let out at 9:00p.m.. I was leaving the campus parking lot out the back way and down a dark road. As I was coming over a small hill, I saw this owl fly out from some trees just in front of me. When it flew out, it was at about my eye level and slowly crossed over the front of my car (I would say it was about 2 feet in front of the car). As it crossed over to the driver's side, it fell back slowly as well until it was right next to me at my door window. It was already a little freaky, but I couldn't help but turn to the left to look at the owl. As I did this,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, the owl turned its head to the right and looked at me!!!!!!!
Well, I had it at that point, I down shifted and floored
it to get away from there. I went straight home and called family to check on them. Every one was okay. That was the hard part. In my culture, the owl is a bad omen. Depending on which side the owl crosses your path from, it can signify a death in the family or someone close to the family. I can't remember which way they have to pass, but like I said, I called to make sure everybody was okay. I never thought I'd look an owl straight in the eyes while it was flying though.

Not Mexican. Native American from the Temecula and Santa Barbara area (father is from SB). Mexican, Native American,,,,, same thing to an extent. Just a border in the way. Yeah, a couple of weeks ago on my way home from work,, I saw an owl fly over from my right to my left. About 2 miles later I was coming up on a crash. There were about 3 CHP, 2 fire trucks and an abulance. I then saw a SUV that looked like it had rolled at least 2 or 3 times sittning on the side of the road. I guess it was a good warning there. lol
@ EnerOnE. It doesn't matter what time of day or night for my tribe. The coyote is another one. It's okay as long as it does not cross your path, kind of like the black cat thing. I saw one in Santa Barbara one time at the Junk yard (looking for parts for my old 280ZX) next to the airport. It came out on the path that I was walking between the rows of cars, stopped and looked at me and then turned to walk down the same path. This is about 3 miles away from the beaches. I turned around and walked back the way I was coming. ****ing cultural superstitions!!!!
