How old is everybody?
31, but my wife says i act 12. my humble advice--you should definitely go to meets to mix and mingle ESPECIALLY with older g drivers. you never know who you'll meet, and it's never too early to start networking. it can be the diff b/w getting into a tier 1 grad school and a tier 3 grad school, and earning six figs after you graduate or half of that. case in point. i just got a dream job (i'm modest enough to claim i'm modest, so i'll just leave it at that) thanks to two attorneys i worked for as a file clerk when i was an undergrad at UCLA (almost ten years ago--yikes!). this thing just came together b/c of these guys, and before i reached out to them, i had been looking at positions that were paying less than 1/2 the amount that i'll be making now--and trust me, when you're 31 and married, it's the difference between being able to hop-up your g to your heart's content and party like you're still in college vs. leaving your g stock b/c you have to worry about having the ends to pay off your mortgage and drinking a fifth of jack every night while you lament those university years.
after all, let's be real here. if you're in college, you have limited funds of your own. if you have a g, it's either b/c: 1. you have a trust fund; 2. you have nice parents; 3. you won a lawsuit or the lottery; 4. you pimp hoes or slang yay in between classes; 5. lease your shiyat (you get no props for that, youngin'); or 6. you blow your whole part-time paycheck + max out your credit card (not a good idea) on your car and eat top ramen 3 times a day to make up for it. on the other hand, if you meet someone who's a little older and already on their career path, they most likely have their g because they can actually afford it. trust me, these are the people who can help you. sorry for the long post, but through life experience i feel so strongly about this, i had to give my spiel--and you younguns have such a great in with this whole g thing, you should take advantage of it (i had a hooptie-a$$ camry during college, and trust me, i didn't want to hang out with 30 year olds who were driving camrys). hell, if you come across someone like me, i'll even take y'all out for drinks and lap dances. word.

thanks, man. i just REALLY feel so strongly about this. life can be really good for you 20-somethings (what are you guys, like gen w, z, who knows?), in ten years--and i mean REALLY good--IF you meet the right people now and work your a$$ off in the mean time. get in where you fit in, and make it happen. the very best of luck to all of you. at least i know you all show a lot of potential, given your very fine choice of automobile!
the guys going to UCI.... are you guys on the anteaterforums? interesting group but there is a section dedicated to the UCI car club "Imports @ UCI"... I'm an old timer there but check it out if you have some time... be interesting to get some Gs up in their group. They're pretty chill.
I'll be 43 late August...jeeeesh!..there are a lot of young folks with G"s here..most of the people I see driving them are older as well, well older compared to the 20 somethings that seem to dominate the forums...
LOL! Don't feel so bad Mountain Pirate. I'm 18 myself, with 27 years of experience.
I would love to attend meets, but my work hours keep me from having any type of social life during the week.
So, am I the oldest in the So. Cal forum??? Anybody???
