yes cause theres a difference... if *.5 sounds funny to you then 04 or 05 should sound funny too... cause the differences are similar, very mild but there are differences...

There are lots of under the skin changes between these cars. ECMs, TCMs radiators, radiator fans, manual transmissions... the list is endless. Here are a few differences according to the service manuals, parts manuals and personal experience.

03 - Type 1 Sedan (Doggie Door) - A Beta tester. Many stand alone components.

03.5 - Type 2 Sedan - Early cars (7/02-9/02) are Type 1 under the skin. Later 03.5s still have many stand alone components.

04 - LEV with "improved" ECM & TCM. Cars built to this point have four O2 sensors that feed info to the ECM.

04.5 - ULEV with two A/F sensors and two O2 sensors.

no the 05.5 coupes now have wood instead of brushed aluminum as an option...

and the 04->04.5 "refresh" has a faster 6-disc changer i think...

didn't the 03's come with non-HID headlights??

I was just getting ready to post that mid year has upgrades... should have know you would have specifics! Nice Dave - thanks for the details!

As far as why would someone care?... maybe some don't but others that read how a particular car is performing or how some mods or ECU changes helped, they may wonder why their 04 didn’t do what another 04 did (where in fact it might have been an 04.5).

BTW, how/why does a fraction of a number in a sig get so much notice that a thread is started?
