I did that once... same stretch south bound (between Skirball and Getty). A honda accord was trying to race me and it just gave me a reason to go a little fast (I knew the honda couldn't keep up). Anyway, I took a corner a little too fast and the VDC started going nuts on me (I probably oversteered slightly). I'm just glad I didn't total my car... so what I learned is that I'll never do that again... (well, I'll never race again... I'll still go fast but a little more carefully.)

I live RIGHT there....up mountaingate on supelveda. getty center and skirball exit. however...two things... last 2 weeks on supelveda there have been 2 fatal accidents and my cousin recently just got into a pretty big accident around there. i race there all the time...no flaming here, just be careful and LOTS of cops...

I wouldn't be suprised if that was at the corner where my VDC went nuts. From the south, it seems to be a small decreasing radius turn left then a small right. That left is pretty deceptive (which is why I'm a lot more vigilant now).

If your on Sepulveda coming from the valley...passing skirball....the first left turn is deceptively tricky. It doesn't look that bad, but in my opinion is the hardest turn and I have almost lost control on that one. Every other turn after that is fairly a smooth bank.

I know this thread is about the sepulveda pass between skirball and getty, but that road isn't too interesting. Muhulland (between Las Virgenes/Malibu Canyon and PCH) and Kanan Road are probably more interesting.

oh a really interesting road in malibu...exit las virgenes road, take it up a bit. left on Piuma Canyon Rd take that up and DAMN, all twisties. NO cars. only drawback, if you fall no one will see/hear you. and there are no guard rails either. lots of fun there too
