I cannot speak for all of OC, but my parents live in Huntington Beach and I visit often. I have dark tinted windows and the police there have never blinked once. I don't think they care.

Have worked in Irvine/Newport for 6 years and I go to church in Fountain Valley. No issues, and my windshield is tinted too.

Most tint problems come from being pulled over for other reasons, and they just tag this on... or use it as an excuse for probable cause.

Hint: If you get pulled over, first thing to do is roll down both front windows.

I've been in OC for over 12 years. The Irvine PD never gave me a problem, however I did get pulled over on the 405 near the Irvine Spectrum by the CHP. The only good thing about it though...it wasn't a fix it ticket. Just pay the fee and take your chances again in getting pulled over.

I've gotten pulled over twice for tinted front windows... but I'd imagine it's because my car is a cop-magnet to begin with. It was a fix-it ticket.... I took my front tint off, and I've decided not to put it back on...

Funny thing is, I drive with my front windows down (90% of the time, even at night).... but the last time I had a date in my car, so I rolled them up so her hair wouldn't get messed up.... see what women get you...???

Damm....

I haven't gotten pulled over in Irvine for front tint tickets in my G....but when I had my Maxima they pulled me over for tints and other things....ALOT....

My dad's Q has dark tint front and back. Even when an IPD pulls up right next to my dad's Q, they look but they never pull us over. My Maxima had much lighter front tint. They pulled me over. Sometimes I think richer people can get away from alot more things...

Your right. I've heard directly from a cop's mouth that nicer cars need tint to protect the interiors and to give them privacy. Load of crap to me. but never had a problem in my G so I guess no complaints.

Interesting.......

This was several years ago. A distant relative of mine used to have to drive through Irvine every morning at about 4am to get to his job. He had been broke and attending a school for airconditioning repair. He got a job in Tustin. But he was still broke for the first few months of his job and had to drive his POS pickup through Irvine to get to the job. He got pulled over 7 times in 2 months by Irvine PD. Never cited, but hassled every single time. Once he got a nicer car, he never got stopped again.

I have very dark even tint all around my car except for the windshield. I'm not sure what the percentage is, but at night no way can you see in and it is very difficult to see in with sunlight and I have yet to have a problem with any cops, but when its a peak night (friday and Saturday) I roll the windows down to avoid problems and also when I've been popped for speeding, I roll both windows down as well. So far CHP, Irvine, Newport, Santa Ana, Tustin, and Orange have left me alone. I love my tint because my car stays cool even when its over 100 in the summer.
