Hey...

For those of you (like me) that are getting the 06 Headlights for your 03-05 G's, let's all get together and do this swap at the same time.

From what it seems like, the front bumper has to come off.
(Going off what other threads have shown)

So if anyone's down to do this as a group, put your name down.
We'll arrange a day (after getting the 06 headlights).
It will probably be later next week.

As a heads up, i think everyone should be prepared:
1. Tools
2. D2S Bulbs (for the projectors)
3. City lights bulbs
4. H1 Bulbs (for the foglights)

If you're in, enter your name.
Otherwise, we'll just do em on our own and that'll be that.

Meechin, you are throwing A LOT OF MEETS..... for this, for that,.......I think you should be a club/party promoter.. :P

 

I'll show face if it's at a time and date that I can attend. I think the "city light" bulbs are 193s, if my memory serves correctly from my lights distribution days

 

Perhaps you should start a thread about that. It might not get enough attention on someone else's thread.

 

PakmaN talk to glenn.. you do not have to take the whole bumper off to take the head lights off.. just the upper half.. careful of getting the absorbers back into place before u put everything together tho. also when taking off the grill careful not to snap any of the clips (everything will still be fine if u snap a few.. but just a heads up) since they're very easy to snap..

also from what i understand you can use stock bulbs just sand off the tips.. for those of u that are on low budget.

PS: i'm looking for an 2005 (prefer) headlight thats next to perfect condition =)

 

Actually, I would recommend against modifying the bulbs themselves. In my experience, tampering with light bulbs, especially those for cars, dramatically alters their integrity. You risk lessening the life of the bulb, or worse, they could blow or melt. It can get messy. When I had faulty HID kits returned back in the day, you'd be surprised the damage they caused. If the bulb heats up too much from changing their original mold can cause damage to more than just the bulb itself.
So, sand bravely!
