Tintzone question

I brought my car in yesterday to get tinted and everything looks great. I got limo all around, and aside from the obvious things that should clear up, i had a question about the dot matrix on the rear window and rear quarter panels. It seems as if some of the tint didn't fully adhere to it. (whitish, clear color rather than the tinted color). I was wondering if this would clear up as well, or if it's something i need to bring it back for. I know a lot of people recommended tintzone so i was wondering how it went for you guys. Thanks!

Ryan

It's never gonna be perfect there. No one can do it perfect. If you are not happy with it, give them a call. If it's really bad, I'm sure they will fix it, but if not....there is only so much that can be done. Maybe you should go to the hooters meet tommorow and see how other cars look.

theres no way to fix the dots. I had my tint guys put opaque black vinyl over that part since the dots look like crap. I've heard of people using elmers gel glue to adhere it better, and honestly doing it that way looks really really good, but it also kills the warrenty for the tint.

Some places wet sand although not good as electrical data (antenna) is incorporated inthose dots. For the most part some parts will appear to have that "silverish" lining. Like said before, no one can get it 100% perfect...

Mine is pretty good, at first i had patches of dark and light areas on the matrix but i evened it out so it looks great.

All you gotta do it take a SOFT COTTON cloth and wet it. Then put it on top of a credit card, use the clothed credit card as a “squeegee” to even everything out. I went from side to side using the short end of the card and it worked great. I think i did this on the 4th day before the tint was fully dry, once it dries i dont think this would work.

Here are some pics of what the whole strip looks like.

awesome, i heard the same advice from a site online. Great to see it worked out. I'll give it a shot tomorrow night maybe. I got it tinted yesterday, so it would be almost 3 days. It's been out of the sunlight so it really hasn't had a chance to fully dry. Thanks man!

Yea just keep on pushing the tint into the matrix asap. 3 days isn't too bad and shouldn't have completely dried up. If all else fails, take it back to the tintzone so they could use the blowtorch to help make it stick.
