How's the quality of the Mevotech arms/ball joints?

 

I've had em for about 9 months and ball joints are all good. Ball joints are a fairly simple part tho, so natural wear should be the only factor but yer talking 60-100k miles. The ball joints are better than Nissan's to be honest

The quality of metal is actually quite impressive. During my first few set of arms (while learning how to press) I put all 12 tons of pressure on the arm itself and the angle and pressure shot the arm out of the press. Almost took my leg off. Anyhow, when the dust settled there was a small chip in the aluminum and that's it. After that I realized the arm itself is completely trustworthy. Hope this helps.

I'm about to install '08 350z shocks/struts (used 30k miles), new hotchkis sways, new powergrid endlinks, spc rear camber arms. I figured since I'm upgrading that many suspension parts and have it all torn down, maybe these compression rods will help with handling as well. Do you think these would be a wise upgrade while doing it all?

aaahh so this is why you were so quick to recommend these Chinese made parts. Well I will abstain from such tactics....so GLWS and free bump to you sir.

 

No, it was because you're selling used parts with used ball joints that can't be replaced. I could frankly care less where people got their arms, I'm literally just trying to give people an option of buying new comp rods with new ball joints and poly bushings because i know how much of a pain it can be if you don't own the right tools to switch bushings. Also what a pain it is to do the work twice because you replace the bushings and then the ball joints go out. I really don't make much money off these, and like I said, its just giving people the option because frankly, I wished this option existed when I was doing my rods.

You can try to sell your OEM rods, and that's fine. I have nothing against you for doing so, but selling used ball joints is kind of irresponsible and I don't recommend it to anyone for anything whether its OEM or not.

 

I don't mean to be rude but your a tiny bit confused. I recommend you search this and the 350z forum for any examples of compression rod ball joint failure ...no hits.... as for "compression rod energy bushings failure"....well that one ...even a google image search provides some nice hits

 

Yeah, common sense is kinda confusing. Are you seriously arguing the fact that ball joints fail? I don't care if its on a compression rod or a tie rod end or a sway bar end link, ball joints fail, bud. Otherwise they wouldn't make ball joints as replacement parts for anything. Are you suggesting that the one in the comp rod is some sort of super ball joint that doesn't fail? Cuz there are a lot of people who will prove otherwise.

 

ps.: a torn dust boot is not what i mean by failure ...those are replaceable for like $8
