Brake work in Houston

Does anyone know of any reputable shops? I need new rear pads and rotors resurfaced. Dealer is quoting $290 but i know i can get it done for cheaper. Thanks for any positive input.

DO you feel you cannot do this yourself? It takes a jack, stand, and a set of sockets and really isnt that difficult. Most auto parts stores can resurface the rotors for you and sell you the pads. Infiniti can turn them for a ton of $$$ too.

I would do it for some tools if i lived in houston. Come to waco and ill do it for a new set of sockets (~$50) and the turning costs at autozone, ive got a hookup there

I have a problem trusting anyone but myself and the dealership which is why i do 90% of the work myself. Other than those two id pick midas then NTB to do them. Cheers!

Thanks for the advice. I live in an apt so I wouldn't have room to stash my wheels plus I need to buy all those parts. I do need to buy a socket set because my belts are starting to crack also.

SGP also might be able to give you a hefty discount on Hawk pads which last a ton longer...

and they could feasibly install them for you and turn the rotors too, i would trust them before NTB or midas.

Put the wheels in your car or trunk while it's up in the air

Seriously, i, as with many others, have lived in an apartment. In the past i've changed my oil, replaced sway bars, added strut bars, changed pads, etc... all in the apartment lot.

I'm not sure which model G you have, but you could probably also just go ahead and get new rotors from Autozone. Shouldn't cost significantly more than paying to turn the old ones. You may have to shell out for tools now, but those things will grow with you. I still have the socket set and torque wrench i bought from O'Reilly's nearly 10 years ago!
