My G Needs Some LOVE!

Greetings Team210,

My G is on its way back from Maryland where a friend of mine wasn't taking care of it like I had entrusted him to. There are a couple of things I'd like to have done with my G before I come home in June.

First, my door needs to be painted; as in, it's primered right now! I'd like to know what shops you guys use to take your parts to get painted. I'd also like to see if I can get my spoiler removed and trunk painted as well, due to a bad debadging job by yours truly.

Second, I need a place to get tires installed... I'm about to buy some tires for my wheels and would also like to know what shop is good/friendly with the wide wheel/low-profile tires.

Third, I would like to have someone help have my Tokico shocks installed. If anyone on the team can do it, cool, I'd gladly pay the cash, or if ya'll know a reputable shop that can do it for cheap.

Lastly, I'd like to add some front speakers later on, so a good audio/video place would be in the works as well...

As you can see, I've got quite a bit planned in the very immediate future.
My boy lives in SA and will be taking my car to all the places provided he's given an address. I've also told him to not be a stranger and try and make it out to some of the meets if that's ok with you guys. I've personally met a couple of you at HIN Austin last year and seemed like a great group of guys to associate with. I thank ya'll in advance for any info and direction so my G can look new again!

Sweet guys! This is exactly what I need. The car made it in late last night with no problems...

I'll be doing the paint first, so I'll get right on that; and I'm ordering tires today or tomm. depending on what tire sizes I want...

I'll have to get with you guys soon after to get the shocks installed after the tires are mounted and ready to go. I'll need an alignment as well...

Thanks for the info guys!

Brake Check does lifetime alignment for @$100. The one I go to is on Bandera and 1604 and I've recommened several Z's and G's to the paticular location. The service manager is really nice guy and he know the 210team. The techs are know what they are doing and will let you watch them align the wheels inside the work bay. The shop is always busy so it's best call ahead to schedule an appointment. Address below;

Brake Check

Wow, my car must ATTRACT bad luck.... the night my car makes it home, the following morning it's HIT by the next door neighbor!!!! WTF!!!

Anyways, since she is paying for it all via USAA, who is actually a great Ins. company to deal with, I'm wondering if Eloy's shop has an approved appraiser so that I can take the car there rather than going to a collision place. Please advise!!

Thanks again guys, you've been a great help!

pretty bad from what I hear... rear QP was hit so yea, that never an easy fix... but for insurance purposes, I know USAA needs an approve appraiser to pay any shop for repairs. wish I had pics, but currently don't have any...

Thanks Skyline

Yeah that rear is no joke, has to be cut and welded back on. Rear and side glass has to be removed as well as some of the interior. He had to do that to mine when I hit a deer awhile back.

I talked to Eloy today, he said to take it to any place to get a good estimate. Then take it to USAA and tell them that Ace Auto Body Works is going to be doing the repairs. How bad is the damage to the QP?

Sounds good. I'm not exactly sure how bad the damage is to the QP, but I'm going to have him take it to Eloy today or tomm. and get a rough price estimate on the cost of painting the prepped door and removal of my spoiler and painting my trunk.

It looks like I might be needing some work on another issue w/ my G: the audio/ac control board is messing up on me, so it looks like I'll be just going to a double din setup like I've been thinking about for a while....
