NW Houston Gas Station Price War

Here's a link to the story:
http://www.click2houston.com/news/17171733/detail.html#

Basically a new gas station (Chevron) is trying to get some publicity so they engaged in a price war with the Shell across the street. I drove by around midnight and the lines were easily 1/2-1 mile to get into the station and prices had dropped to 2.08 and 2.09 for midgrade! I decided not to waste my time, but instead to check out the gas stations down the road that got into the action and got myself premium for $3.47 with no wait

Love to see that .... cheap publicity for Chevron guy....

Sell 10000 gallons for 15000 loss, and get about 400 - 900 new customer.s.... who may potentially come back...

Yeah, they called in tankers to refill.
The Chevron guy said he will always have the lowest prices on that corner...so we'll see how long the price war goes!

I think it's pretty ridiculous tho, people waste so much gas waiting in line for HOURS just to save maybe 20 or 30 dollars. I guess they really don't have anything better to do with their lives
